My comrades,
I am informing you of the situation in Egypt… the situation has fallen out of control since the foul Chinese set up their outpost there. Not only that, but the damn American’s continue to aid them with the fight. The consistently are abusing civilian radio communications to rally there troops on and they have used there bombers and destroyed our command centre. However, I hear news that a General of the highest order is coming to aid us and our situation. We have only a handful of units left in the field and the Chinese will soon attack us once they know we are there. We are preparing to fight them off as we wait for this “Saviour” General. Maybe he can help us restore order to Egypt and have it under GLA control. Our building supplies are also limited and the Chinese are extorting all the derricks in the area at their outpost. The few supplies remaining near us are also under Chinese control. We must break into the Chinese Base and destroy the Command Post their, to stop American and Chinese interference. I am beginning to hear noises out side… I must prepare for the battle! To war brothers!

Well i finally managed to create my first mission biggrin.gif (lol)
This was manly an experiment to see what i could put into a mission with my skills so far. However i would like to say that it is still in it's creation stages, but i thought i'd post my first attempt here to see what you guys think. Just to inform you there are no cut scenes as of yet so you will be dropped straight into the action. Basically your main objective is to destroy the American Command Post in the center of the Chinese base.

Edit: I cannot open it, the screen is fully visible and there is not a single building or unit or anything on the map.

I too have this problem tongue.gif
Plus most of the terrian is blue/green which isn't very desert-ish lol

Try uploading again, to a different website than that as you can not download the whole folder without a subscription.

Oddly I lose this mission out of a sudden while the westward wave of Red Guard and Tank Hunters are attacking. I have no idea why this happens.

Was the command centre destroyed? if this happens then you lose tongue.gif

I'm quite sure it was still standing while the Defeated message popped up (the CC makes quite a noise when collapsing). But I'll check again.

Same thing happens, if your Command Centre is under attack at around 90% you lose.

Another one: You might want to improve the pathfinding around the hill at the southeast. It's absolutely horrible.

Also, Generals Powers make this mission almost too easy after the beginning.

I'm removing that hill 'twas an accident....
And how do i remove Gen Powers? do i remove the command button from the CC?

Simply remove the Generals Power from the science purchase menu. That way, you won't be able to buy the Generals Power in the first place.

A problem I see on this map is that you cannot build or find a Palace.
Edit: Gen Powers which should stay (if you mind):
Vehicle Training
Scavanged Salvage
Basilisk (if you fix the Palace thing)
Phosphorus Strike 1
Cash Bounty 1 and 2
Salvage Drop 1
Emergency Repair 1 and 2
Sneak Attack

I think he removed the Palace on purpose, though it's confusing to have the Soyuz on there when you can't build it anyway. While we're at it, the Scarab smoke grenade upgrade also seems useless since you cannot build Scarabs in this mission.

Another bug is that there's a gattling tank outside the map perimeter that you can attack and won't even fight back. Also the USA never ever seems to attack for some reason.

As for Generals Powers I'd only keep all the L1 ones plus Cash Bounty. Remember this is a beginning mission.

If you do as Prince Kassad said, or anything at all to the Generals Powers, you should reduce the maximum Rank as well wink.gif
Apart from all that, I really liked the mission so far, curious to see the final version.

The Scarab smoke grenade and Soyuz will be removed, thanks for pointing those out, and the USA don't have a base in this area just a command post in the chinese base. Plus they bring in reinforcements if you attack the chinese base however there is a way to get rid of them

So no Basilisks then? That is, if a Palace in that mission is not existant at all.

No, basilisks won't be buildable in this mission but you may see them enter as reinforcements at some stage smile.gif

Gave it a go and it was surprisingly easy, just send the phosphorous generals power in to take out the US thingy.
Maybe make it so you have to defeat the Chinese too?

OK thanks for pointing this out tongue.gif i'll change the scripting so that you have to destroy the chinese

EDIT: I've removed the phosphour generals power but i now have the problem that my China teams won't attack the enemy properly. I've told them to follow a waypoint path and when they reach it they hunt for GLA or if they're attacked. But occasionaly they will simply stop moving all together =S

Did it work before, or did the scripts suddenly break? This sounds very strange and it's best to double check everything.

If you happen to have the script debugger (avaliable, for example, from Deezire) you can see whether the scripts are actually running and if there are any errors.

They work now, and a new version is released which has fixed some of the previously mentioned bugs
