Hi all smile.gif
I thought I'd share my stuff with everyone, so here are my previous videos. I'm going to post new one's simply bumping this topic also to let people know when something new's on.

First, particles from my old mod called Supreme Commander Mod.








Now stuff from my Realism Mod which got abandoned, actually did one nice superweapon


Now my newest stuff which is included in my newest mod called Nuclear Winter wink.gif
Looks like I got a little better in making particles compared to Supreme Commander Mod biggrin.gif

New superweapon is incomming!!!
It's called Hydrogen Bunker Buster.
It's completely idiotic idea to have a hydrogen bomb that acts like bunker buster, but when I asked Hunter to make me some badass ICBM missile with wings, it looked like big bunkerbuster. Now I've came up with idea that this will be the last call Usa superweapon, when there is really no other hope for winning than nuking the shit out of your enemy, or just killing him when he breaks to your base.
It will basicaly kill everything on the map, but if the map is big enough someone should survive.

How it works?
Well, it costs 5 science points, when you'll call it, a B2 bomber flies over enemy base and drops this ICBM missile, which at certain height activates all of it's badass engines and hits the ground with incredible force. While enemy is thinking that this was a dud since nothing big happened, after 5 seconds the last thing enemy will see in their life will be huge flash and a warm feeling.

And you will just watch the fireworks.

Impressive, but that will undoubtably kill lower spec machines.
Especially if more than one of those goes off at once

They're all beautiful, but I can't help thinking that in a vast majority of cases the effects don't match up to the FX, if you get my drift. The blast radii seem very small for shockwaves that extend over what looks to be in some cases three times that.

Also of course I extended my camera. Making nuke for 390 camera is annoying.

Ah, I see. I'd love to see some of these wreaking the havoc they look like they will in the final version, but as demos they certainly do their job, and very well!

Well I think it's pretty amazing.
Is your mod going to have a zoom level like that?
Otherwise it can't be fully appericated.

This one was requested for Blitz2 mod, so it's 600 camera. Well my mod has got 1000 game unit's camera so this nuke is somewhat tactical in my mod.
But I think that I'd change my mod to 600 - 750 camera since 1000 is overkill.

Lol, these are the ones I've made in 5 minutes.
If you want countermeasures, open particleeffect.ini and replace "CountermeasureFlareParticleSys"

I wish you timed the shockwaves better. I was hoping the second and third ones would come up as soon as the bulb rises to their specific altitudes. Though, I haven't a clue how nuclear explosions work. Overall very nice.

They are intentionaly delayed. But yes they could use a bit more of work.
I'd fix them since I think I'm going to relase this nuke to public.

Boy, your Countermeasure Flares look great.

What settings do you use for them to make them shoot out so smoothly code-wise?

EDIT: Let me guess. Did you use a variatior module?

I like your most recent tactical nuke the most. The final colors seem a bit off - a bit dirty looking.

I want to see you have a hand at some smaller things. Though biggies are fun.

I'll be honest, a lot of your work here reminds me of some of my own later work. =P

The secret to getting the flares to fire and glide smoothly is in the particle itself? I would imagine that it would be a combination of the mass of the object and the countermeasure settings such as the VolleyArcAngle and VolleyVelocityFactor.

Just a quick note on exhausts: You ought to make the smoke transparent for the first part, it shouldn't overlap with the flame, it kinda looks weird. Maybe that's just me though.

I've seen your VGO work, how did you made those napalm smoke arms/trails ? They are small but aren't laggy like mine, and overkill in particle number.


Fixed the damage radius and added flame and burn death type's.

I believe I used "streaks" instead of "particles". Streaks would be like the missile defender exhaust. It is definitely easier on the system than normal particles, and moreover, it is a smoother line (whereas particles are choppy).

As for you incendiary bomb, I'd recommend that with your offshoots, you make them more flame-colored toward the ends of the streak (toward the middle of the effect). Pair that with a faint lenseflare and you should get an effect that looks like the flame really is causing some glow.

A lasting flare might also make the flame particles look more tied-together.

Death fx for non upgraded nuclear tanks.

Also Rorschach, do you have any video of your VGO battleship shells exploding? I have only seen the smoke and arms they left after explosion, and I can't get the mod itself to work on my computer to see it.

The new nuke cannon shell fx is mine, but I think I've could improve it, if you have anything about it you can post it here.
Atm I'm having a little break from particle making and I think it will elongate to next holidays since it is an important class now and I can't really be bothered to do that much things at a time, however when I will feel fine to do this I will post updates here.

Yes I'm creating custom particles from scratch.
I've lost all of the nukes you asked about, but if you want I can create a new one just for you. You just have to specify how should it look like.

You sure? Well then, i was trying to make an Hydrogen Bomb (dropped by plane), but i suck at making particle effects, can only make the rings (i used the daisyflame code for the biggest rings)...

So... An hydrogen bomb, bigger than the normal nuke of zero hour... similar to the one u made

Don't adjust the offsets it will always look shit.
Better do it this way - make the bomb spawn an OCL object that instantly explodes and spawns this effect. It will always spawn at correct heights/offsets.

By making the nuke cannon shell use the neutron missile blast modules. Check the neutron missile in weaponsobjects.ini

Well you can use the shader/texture that microwave tank is using, but I don't like it because you can't make it fade out nicely.

Borrowed the Shockwave's idea of delayed explosion.


Still wip, gotta add a little bit longer flash so you can't see through the "ball".

Off-topic: I love your Gbombs addon, pretty damn great. But how do you control the Goliath, and remotely explode bombs without using crossbows and stuff?

Well the website is a work in progress as my exams require me to pretty much give up on anything besides them tongue.gif
As for gbombs, it's an old and obsolete addon. One guy is currently continuing them and I may as well try do re-do them in the future.
The goliath is a simple bomb on wheels it's not controllable by default. I've just attached thrusters to it tongue.gif

That is incredible work chappi. Awesome stuff. The shockwave alone makes it so much more menacing, but the extra debris and secondary explosions just make it feel that much more destructive. Great work man
