I've noticed that some upgrades (specifically new ones) become greyed out after the purchase, while some don't (specifically old ones). So, my first question is, have you guys managed to work around the upgrade limit by creating upgrades which technically speaking aren't really upgrades in the traditional sense of the word, but more like units (I guess SAGE reads them as such) or something?
These new upgrades being greyed out reminds me of units which are limited in availability. I mean if they weren't then you would have made it possible for the upgrade to look normal when purchased, just like the rest of them, right? And the second questions is if this wild theory of mine is true, does this mean the upgrade limit is no longer an issue? the faux upgrades are build objects that either grant a science, grant a global effect, or are a prerequisite - that's why there is no text announcement for when it's researched and why it's grayed out afterwards.
the limit still exists and is as acute as ever, since this method is mostly restricted to special powers or passive bonii; you cannot use a fake upgrade to change an armorset or a weaponset, nor can it be used for rider transformation, or individual upgrades, among other things. -------------------- "don't live, hanfield"

I see. But it still helps in expanding the number of overall upgrades, both real and fakes ones, right? I mean, it was a smart workaround in any case. As Hunter says: "Bitchslappin' SAGE since 2003."

real ones have a fixed 128 limit, but yes, certain things can be/were ported over to this system

Sciences aren't limited, right? And how many more upgrades can we get in this way? Will it be enough for all the things planned for 2.0?

Upgrade slots were planned out long ago and are enough; how many sciences are allowed is unknown, but I have not heard of any limit being reached -------------------- "don't live, hanfield"
