Hi.I'm having a problem with the game Rise of the reds.Let me explain, the game starts without problem but after a little while, when I have built some structures, the game passes from 20-25 fraps to 6-7 fraps.I thought it was fault of the computer,'cause my computer isn't very powerful, but I tried it on a much more powerful computer and .............there was the same problem. Please help me! This is the only game that I play.
By the way my patch is the last one:1.2. |

Bad map pathfinding and the general bugginess of the SAGE engine is typically what causes low framerates.
Unfixable unless EA releases the source. -------------------- |

So there is nothing I can do?And I will not be able to play it normally? Pretty much. It will happen with most AI, the pathfinding is poor so the AI has nowhere to send it's units. As it's not sending them to attack you, you aren't destroying them, and sage's limit is stretched with the amount of detail and units that it can handle in one game. You will notice it gets worse with more AI players and is smoother with less. -------------------- |

Well.if this is the real problem Flankerman, it might not happen on all maps right? I mean i play on most of the official maps and maps done by SWR team and i do not get a lot of problems. Of course i get the occasional hiccup but thats it. Could it be something else? I'm raising this issue because i used to have a similar problem. But then i didn't play ZH for sometime and when i played again it was after a fresh windows install. So i'm wondering if something else can be the cause.

In shockwave, the AI doesn't even respond on unofficial maps as I found out.
AI is simply the cause. Pathfinding in ZH is poor -------------------- |

However something else must also be wrong, something withing rotr and shockwave as this 2 are the only generals mods that frame like hell on my pc ( and no i don't have a low pc - can play ra3 or crysis on verry high ). There must be something with their AI wich causes this 2 mods to move so slow. I'm not trying to say there bad or anything, i'm just saying that out of all the cnc mods i play ( contra, genx, untitled, ec, remix, mideast crysis, the end of days, rotr and shockwave ) this 2 mods are the only ones that have this problem.

I think it might be the high number of units it makes, or the fact that attack teams get stuck in the base very often. Just a guess, since I'm not sure of the other mods you mentioned.

On simple maps the Shockwave AI can even work without waypoints, however this means that the AI is naturally very stupid, and once every minute you will get these frame hiccups. I tried it myself with a map of my own which I hadn't waypointed yet. This post has been edited by Shock: 3 Sep 2009, 2:24 -------------------- |

Tough luck if you're using a pirated copy from the net. We're not giving any guarantee for the mod's compatibility with those.

Crack or real game (I have both) it doesn’t change the performance of ZH , Other then the fact with the illegal version you can’t go online. So don’t think just because of that reason his game isn’t going to work.

Most ZH-related problems I'm aware of can be solved with a re-install and if that doesn't do it, the issue might be hardware-related. Since he was
also talking about a PC upgrade, the recommended course of actions is to get that upgrade and try to run the game regularly. Maybe that's all. Above everything else, make sure you've got patch 1.04 installed. |

(read the rules) It's not like he was offering it out ot anyone. The rules state: QUOTE We have a zero tolerance policy regarding the illegal distribution of copyrighted materials, thus it has no place on our forums. Contravening this rule may result in a caution, suspension or warning. he was stating that he has a cracked copy and was wondering whether it will affect performance. It does not, and neither will a new PC. It's the engine that cannot handle the game, not your PC. -------------------- |

So you're telling me that I won't be able to play it normaly even with:more powerful computer, original game, patch 1.04,patch Rotr 1.5?
If so all the other players of Rotr have the same problem too, right? P.S.What software should I use,Vista,XP or it's the same? This post has been edited by Flankerman: 8 Dec 2009, 18:41 |

QUOTE (Forum Rules) 6. WareZ/piracy. We have a zero tolerance policy regarding the illegal distribution of copyrighted materials, thus it has no place on our forums. Contravening this rule may result in a caution, suspension or warning. The above rule didn't state technical support/help (in this case), request, and/or support regarding on such content. Could the above statements be justified? (A couple of weeks earlier some Filipino here in the forums PM-ed me on where to find an original TFD locally to play ZH online, which unfortunately, to no avail...) Back on topic, if the results are still the same it could still be engine-related. -------------------- "Not in mood...go away..." I can play tis game also.
QUOTE 6. WareZ/piracy. We have a zero tolerance policy regarding the illegal distribution of copyrighted materials, thus it has no place on our forums. Contravening this rule may result in a caution, suspension or warning. 1) He did not offer, it if he would he certainly would be warned. 2) Not reacting on this would look like we tolerate "WareZ/piracy" this is not so. 3) Writing in a forum to have "WareZ/piracy" will get other user on stupid/dangerous ideas. 4) "WareZ/piracy" is a dangerous idea because you never now what you install on your hard disk for sure. 5) I now user who did install "WareZ/piracy" and they got trouble like he did. So i hope this is clear now. @Flankerman Have a look into this: Is your hard disk full of waste? -> CCleaner did help me alot Is your hard disk defragt? -> Defrag please. A fresh clean install with no mods installed. I hope this helps. With best regards Wi-Ta -------------------- |

I'm running a Sapphire Radeon HD 4850, with a Quad core Processor, 700W PSU and 4GB of RAM, and I still get lag having run in on the same computer on both XP and Windows 7. It's unavoidable I'd say I can play tis game also. QUOTE 6. WareZ/piracy. So i hope this is clear now. With best regards Wi-Ta What game? This is not a game, I'm bieng serious here. Don't you think you're going a bit over the top here? You seem to snap at the mere mention of Ware. I understand you may feel strongly about it but seriously, all he asked was whether the fact that he had a cracked copy of the game would affect it's performance. He wasn't asking where to find one, nor was he telling other people where to find a copy. As far as I know, there is nothing illegal about that. You seem to think that the very mention of Warez means that you condone it here, but it doesn't. Providing you are not allowing him to redistribute or request the illegal copies of software, then you will not find yourselves in trouble with EA. Why ban the very mention of the things as if they don't exist when it's clear that they do? And lets look at the rules again here. QUOTE 6. WareZ/piracy. We have a zero tolerance policy regarding the illegal distribution of copyrighted materials, thus it has no place on our forums. Contravening this rule may result in a caution, suspension or warning. It's not the term warez that has no place here, but the distribution of it, which is what I highlighted in the first place. You're just overpolicing the forum by coming down so hard on people that mention Warez. -------------------- |

@D' WRTHBRNGR I do see this completely different. We can discus this in a new tread if you like. Lowering the grafic details can help as well.
@Wi-Ta: you really do overreact a little there. |
