I would go with my Fan-Fiction to the essence of Command and Conquer:
A theater of war where the 4 military superpowers face mainly the powerful Terrorist Cell called GLA that threatens the existence of the world population and its stable economy, launching massive attacks and sowing chaos around the world. Each faction would have more units of the XX and XXI century, adding the best heavy tanks, diversity of vehicles (artillery, ballistic, transport and utilitarian), combat aircraft (hunting and bombing) Helicopters, Drones, etc. ECA would be a faction such as USA, China and Russia; with more units (and not necessarily because of his defensive strategy class). Like ECA, the Chinese faction would also have significant changes in terms of its units. USA: AH-64 Apache, CH-53 Super Stallion (utilitarian), M1 Abrahams, M2 Bradley, Merkava IV, Stryker, F-35 Lighting II ECA: A-129 Mangusta, EC665 Tiger, Wesland Lynx Helicopter (utilitarian), Challenger 2, AMX-56 Leclerc CHINA: CAIC WZ-10, J-10, Chengdu J-20, Shenyang J-11, Tipo 99A2 RUSSIA: T-14 Armata, SU-35S, SU-30, SU-34, Kamov Ka-60 (utilitarian) Among other units more... |

Personally, I do understand people wishing for things like the ZTZ99 or J20 for China, in fact, I think units based on them could be implemented in a way that also gives them a distinct role and identity.
However, the thing I just don't get, that I keep seeing ever so often, is people wishing for modern day hardware pieces that would not only be dated/obsolete in the 2040s timeframe of ROTR, but you actually have their in-universe replacements/successors in-game already. Such is the case for the Apache, which has been replaced by the superior Comanche, the Abrams which was first interpreted as being the Paladin and now replaced with an all-new Paladin, the Mangusta and Tiger which are both predecessors to the Tiger that the ECA already has, the Ka-60 which is pointless when you already have the Hunchback as your Russian transport helicopter, the CH-53 which is equally pointless when the US already have Ospreys, Blackhawks and Starlifters for transport, etc, etc. The ECA already has a fictitious Leopard 3, so why also have a current day Challenger 2 or Leclerc, not to mention an Israeli Merkava tank for the US and the usual laundry list of Russian combat aircraft, which people want to see added purely because they exist, with no idea as to what their actual purpose could be. |

The thread is over, everyone can go home now. |
