So I just found my TV DVD player is region free.

This obviously means I'm about to import a whole heap of stuff. But obviously I'll be wanting to watch this on my laptop at some point. There's no custom firmware for my particular drive, though I'm noticing there's a number of programs which run in the background and decrypt DVDs on the fly, somehow making your computer think they're region-free.

Has anyone had experience with these sort of programs and is able to recommend such a program?

Good stuff! The whole concept of Region locking is retarded, IMO. It doesn't achieve anything.

It's done to prevent importing cheaper DVDs from outside etc...
It's particularly retarded, and one of the reasons I supported HD-DVD for its single region system as opposed to Bluray which has 3
