In an enviroment with "splashy" Heavy AA, like RotR is, Kirovs in their original role would be near useless. (Slow moving airships with 0 atack range)

I always wished to see them as a heavy gun/machinegun platforms instead of bombers... or Tesla Kirov
But well, I guess I'm going too far here....

I was thinking more about an airship like the Hunchback. Able to strafe from zero range while also armed with autocannons and stuff to attack from range. Also capable of performing other functions if necessary. Obviously with heavy armour, low speed, maybe even with RA3 gastroburners if the speed feels too low for generals. But yeah like I said what I was thinking is more or less like the Hunchback only with different stats. Pretty sure the team would do a far better job if this Kirov rumour ain't just a troll rumour.

But IMO something like Tesla Kirov would somewhat take away the fun of it being a Kirov.

Let Red Alert be Red Alert and ROTR be ROTR . . .
We already have Tesla Tanks,Coils and Boris . . .

There is always room for inspiration from the predecessors. Something tells me there are more RA similarities coming in the future. And that's a very good thing given they can fit in the ZH universe as new, unique, well adapted additions. Do note I am talking talking about inspirations, not literal copy-paste of units.

Or... is it by any chance only a problem if it's associated with tesla or something that sounds high-tech for sides other than ECA?

Like you said inspiration . . . Not copy-->paste.
So we really don't need a Kirov's.
ROTR Russians have great balance now between Real life Russian Army and RA1/2 tribute,plus some its own new stuff.
But as for Kirov's,Apocalypse Tanks,Mirage Tanks,they are trade mark of the old RA games,and should remain.
And I am pretty sure they would not add it,maybe some other Zepppelin to some other side,but not Kirov,and not to Russians.

Yeah I am also pretty sure that ECA will have lot similarities with factions from old C&C . . .
They already showed us Dogs,Minelayers,Harriers,Engineers . . . And I'm somehow pretty sure we will see more similarities like you stated.

And for your last one . . .
No.It is great thing that Russia will have someone like Alexander,
he just jumps out from other two Generals (although I can't wait to play with Tactical Balistics),
and I am pretty sure that he will become one of the players favorite.
