Hello ROTR fans,
Since everyone in this forum is going crazy over fan missions these days, I decided to share my own. I've been mapping for quite a while now, but I originally never intended to upload them anywhere, which may lead to some drawbacks: 1. They could be sometimes unfair in a way that it isn't overly clear what to do, since I was usually the only one playing them, obviously knowing exactly what to do. In that case please inform me to improve on the information given during the course of the mission. 2. As I'm not a player who performs 5000 actions per minute, most of them are rather slow-paced or downright easy. So if you're looking for a hardcore challenge, this is probably not your place to go. Now for the missions themselves: The Bear Strikes: A Orlov style Russian mission (lots of infantry and helicopter use). Your objective is to raid an ECA naval base in Greece early in the war. The_Bear_Strikes__ROTR_.zip ( 148.66K ) Number of downloads: 170 Aral Sea Meltdown: This mission takes place on the GLA 05 map from the original Generals, since I absolutely love the setting of the Aral Sea. Your job as Russia is to eradicate all GLA troops that have defeated the US and are using old Soviet-era chemicals against their enemies. Aral_Sea_Meltdown__ROTR_.zip ( 315.18K ) Number of downloads: 141 Pyong Boom: A simple China vs. GLA mission, divided in three parts. Should be fairly easy. Pyong_Boom__ROTR_.zip ( 166.97K ) Number of downloads: 135 Unstable Alliance: You play as GLA and try to induce war between China and Russia in order to overwhelm them both, while obviously being too weak to take on them both while they're allied. Unstable_Alliance__ROTR_.zip ( 187.56K ) Number of downloads: 141 Though they have been extensively tested, I am of course thankful for bug reports etc. Have fun! I'm no doubt doing "The Bear Strikes" wrong - building an ECA force to fight the ECA, Wotans and Solaris Relays and all... But it was really fun!

I'm no doubt doing "The Bear Strikes" wrong - building an ECA force to fight the ECA, Wotans and Solaris Relays and all... But it was really fun! A couple other ways ... 1 - at beginning of game use mishka to ferry a rocket troop around the center and NW islands so he can take out all of the wotans; build a couple helos (@ helipad in SW corner of map) to ferry troops to NW island; getting across the bridge is a bit of a pain in the arse but doable if you use paradrops to soften up the east side of the bridge 2 - use mishka/rocket-troop to take out wotans, man-up the emtpy russian vehicles in the lower/center and far SW islands; capture naval factory to build hovercraft; take over islands just north and NW of naval factory 3 - take out the wotans and air defenses on central/central-east islands (just north/NW of naval factory) so as to give your paradrops direct, unhindered access to the eastern side of the ECA's base; sacrifice paradrops to take out enemy airfield and power plant; use hovercraft to bring heavy units up into the eastern side of ECA base (or continue to use paradrops to chip away at ECA facilities) [NOTE: AI doesn't appear to put much effort into rebuilding what you destroy] 4 - capture the solaris array on NW island, build a few power plants, wreak havoc with the solaris array ... or not ... Several ways to slice-n-dice this mission for a good bit of fun ... |
