Just wondering how many people already moved on to Windows 7.
If you don't have it, are you waiting for a price drop? Service pack? Not buying 7 at all? I'm waiting for both a service pack and a price drop. Also I'm keeping my ears sharp for any negative feedback. (Would be hilarious if 7 flops too.) -------------------- |

I could buy Windows 7 for 35€ (that should be around $50), but I am still waiting for a kind of service pack.

I have Windows 7 for about 4 weeks now and I love it. Before I fixed my over heating problem, I was running Windows 7 and had a CPU temperature of average of 45-67 compare to xp 70-110. Now I barely go over 57*c. I have dual screen Samsung 23in amd my old HP screen and I love it. I would recomend Windows 7 and wished I had listened to PotP before.

I'm still running XP right now and when I'm re-doing my entire system for that hardware upgrade I'm getting for Christmas, I'll re-install XP for the time being. However, I'll probably get Win 7 as soon as the first Service Pack is out, i.e. some time next year, maybe a bit later to see if the price drops. This time, I'm not going to wait. I've been using Win 98 up until several months after Service Pack 2 came out and once I had XP, I regretted every additional day I had been using Win 98. As for Vista, I skipped that one entirely. It just stuck in my mind as Microsoft's way of saying 'crap, it's been ages since we made a new OS! Let's put together a new gapfill until we release the next REAL system we want the whole world to use'.

Where's the none of the above option? I use Windows like once a week, and it is either Windows 7 or XP.

I have Windows 7 but I didn't buy it. I downloaded it legally from the MSDN Academic Alliance. I've been using it since Beta 1 and am fully satisfied with it currently. Because GRUB has poor compatibility with RAID 0, I haven't gotten it properly installed on my desktop. I use Ubuntu a lot more on my laptop though. My next project is probably making my Laptop into a Hackintosh.

QUOTE I'm waiting for both a service pack and a price drop. Also I'm keeping my ears sharp for any negative feedback. I did stay with Win2000 till SP2 was out for XP. I did by me Win XP pro for 37€ and i am happy with it. The bad feedback and bad performance did not make me buy Vista. Should i buy a new OS with no SP and expensive like hell from MS when i have a nice running system? The answer is clear i think. -------------------- |

Im also using 7 and it works ok so far. No complains to yet. The only problem i encountered with gaming was with crysis. The 64-bit executable does not work and the 32-bit has a problem with dialog audio/subtitles in cutscenes. Apart from that its been quite nice. Way better than Vista for sure.
But i don't think a person should just move to W7 because its good. There is nothing wrong with XP at the moment. For me it does all the stuff properly for me. I moved to windows 7 hoping to have a dual boot. However my XP parition is not shown anymore due to a corrupt installation and im lazy to re-install XP so im sticking with W7 for now. -------------------- |

I still have an upgrade license waiting for me at the vendor, the backstabbers only decide to charge you 20 euros for delivery and other costs, which is ridiculously stupid. Thank you Dell.
I'll still do it though, in a couple of days... -------------------- |

Windows 7 made a fantastic increase there. From 5 to1 to 2 to1 within the last 3 days.
