There are some "crazy" stuff, at least stuff you wouldn't really find lying around, but I'm going to blame the Evans Corporation for that.

Blast Shield

Description: A rotating ring with 5 heavy, explosion resistant plates, the Blast Shield has two modes. In its first mode, the Blast Shield forms the top half of a dome with its plates, protecting anything below against aerial bombardment. In its second mode, the plates are lowered and expanded further to cover the bottom half, but the top half is no longer protected. This protects any units or buildings inside while preventing both getting inside or outside the ring.

Mercenary Drop Zone

Description: High tech vehicles designed and built by the Evans Corporation are dropped in the Mercenary Drop Zone, at a premium. Can build the Pacifier Tank, Silverstorm Smart Missile System and the Whirlwind Support Tank. However, only a limited amount of vehicles can be requested from the Evans Corporation at once to preserve the corporation's neutrality.

Pacifier Tank: A Main Battle Tank far more sophisticated than the others, the Pacifier is armored better and is faster than any other main battle tank. Also performing the role of an APC, the Pacifier can carry 5 infantry units which survive the vehicle's destruction unharmed. Instead of a traditional cannon, it is equipped with a 30mm Autocannon that fires very powerful rounds for its calibre, dealing about as much damage as a Crusader Tank at an incredibly higher rate and increased anti-infantry effectiveness. The Pacifier is also equipped with two Missile Pods on each side, totaling to 4, which can target hostile aircraft and destroy them easily. The Pacifier is further boosted with the addition of its automatic Grenade Launcher which has its own turret, obliterating infantry formations and light vehicles while letting the autocannon focus on hostile armor. All these benefits do not come cheap however, as the Pacifier, while not as durable as the mighty Overlord Tank, is not cheaper than it. Has a built limit of 8.

Silverstorm Smart Missile System: Not more and not less than a main battle tank with 12 Missile Pods, the Silverstorm fires special missiles that release kinetic kill projectiles (meaning the projectile's speed is not always the same, and neither is turning rate or the trajectory) once they're close enough to their target, dealing heavy damage relative to the small size of each missile. The Silverstorm has long range but also a minimum range, and is not very effective against buildings. It can be adjusted to one of its three firing patterns, being 1x12, 4x3 and 12x1 (the first is the number of targets). The Silverstorm simultaneously picks that many targets and fires as many tracking missiles per target as the second number. Aside from a moderately long reload time, the Silverstorm is also held back by its high cost, being as expensive as the Pacifier Tank. Has a build limit of 8.

Whirlwind Support Tank: The third of the elite vehicles to be built on an MBT chassis, the Whirlwind repairs allied vehicles and structures in a huge radius around it. Its primary weapon is an EMP cannon, which slowly fires very powerful bursts that disable the target vehicle for a while at ranges longer than that of other main battle tanks. (About the same as the Ravage's Ramjet) The Whirlwind is also equipped with a pair of active defense systems, intercepting most incoming missiles. Has a build limit of 8 and costs $2000 like the other two vehicles.

SAM Site

Description: Fires extremely powerful anti-air missiles at extreme ranges. Can target aircraft through the fog of war.

Nice Ideas but wouldn't it look redundant to have all the vehicles based on a MTB Chassis ?

(template like that is forbidden)

even the idea of a Tech Factory is actually good, we've learned that additional tech buildings like this requires additional map(s) where you can find them, quite amount of additional codes and art works, and they'll end up rarely used. as it only bring small benefit for all the effort, it will be unlikely to be implemented.

you sure love stuffs that kills on map ranges.
wait... *checks the neighbor mod forum*
*sighs*

also consider to not post tl;dr suggestions, refer to the guidelines.

Guilty as charged, I have a soft spot for big ass SAM Sites. ^^

Also, they could easily be retconned into existing maps couldn't they? Like Shockwave did it with the Radio Station. And these units are meant to be exceptionally powerful and unique in their roles (no other dedicated anti-air AND anti-ground multi target missile launcher or a long range railgun-ish weapon that can disable others, repair stuff and intercept missiles out there, and the tank is just mean) balanced by their build limits and high price, making them important tech buildings to capture. Give it some armor and voila, you have a focusing point on the map with players actively fighting to take over that tech structure which may very well change the game with its fancy units.

I think your prediction that a tech War Factory would not be worth the effort because it would go unused (if you think that it's not worth it in general then I don't have much to say about that) is misplaced because something like that has a huge potential to be the focus of the map.

Thats theoretical assumption.

Overcomplication. Just make a building that can be garrisoned and can switch between these modes and in these modes it takes 0 damage from whatever weapons they protect against. But then again, this still might not be possible (I think because this would be limited by the strategies code, since it's kinda the same concept, Hold the Line changes the armor type I think from the regular armor)
