Episode One: Wolves and their suits
It was an early morning on 20th of January 2051, one week after military drills in western Serbia were closed at midnight, with fireworks on the 'Old New Year'.
The Sun was not up yet, but the snow stopped falling. In front of the headquarters of the Gray Wolves special forces unit near the city of Nis there were two fully equipped teams standing in a line. In front of them was the unit's commander Nikola Pasic.
"As you all know all of your recent training has been specifically designed to prepare us for a very big mission that is to come within a few months. This is the biggest mission, and arguably the most important one we were ever sent to. Failure is not an option."
After making a short pause to slowly walk to the middle of the line, the commander continued: "There will be a total of three teams with diferent objectives. One has already been sent to prepare everythig for our arrival. They are also not aware of the destination, or our objective yet. All three teams will be given information and details after we meet in Skopje."
He stopped, turned, and slowly started walking to one end of the line: "I will coordinate all three teams in case something goes wrong, but i have the utmost confidence in all of you. A leader of each team will be selected and given the propper equipment."
When he reached the end he stopped walking and started walking to the opposide side of the line: "There are two trucks waiting on the parking lot. They will take us to the Russian base from where we will go to Skopje. Once in the base, we will recieve equipment. You will have ten minutes to test it, and after that we will head to meet the other team. I will see you in the base."
When he was in front of the middle of the line, he turned towards the soldiers: "May the Lord guide you."
The soldiers saluted the commander in sync, after which they rushed to the trucks, almost in complete silence. A few minutes later, two trucks were driving the teams to the Russian military base. In one truck the soldiers were almost completely quiet, while in the other after some time there was a chatt about the misterious mission.
"So, what do you people think? Where are we being sent?" asked Stefan, one of the soldiers.
"Well from Skopje we can only go south, so my guess is Cyprus" answered one of them at the back of the truck.
"Or east", continued Milos, the third soldier.
"Do you think the surprise wargames are connected?" asked another soldier.
"It's probably a distraction. Who knows what they are upto."
"People. Seems that we are here..." said Dusan, while the trucks stopped in front of the first border check near the Russian base.
Part of the Russian military base near Nis "Све је уреду. Терај!" was heared from the outside after the guards checked the papers.
After a few minutes they passed another checkpoint. And then at the third checkpoint, another guard was heared yelling from the outside: "Добро пожаловать в базу "Николай II Александрович"!"
The trucks finally passed the third checkpoint and entered the territory of the Russian base.
Minutes later the trucks stopped, and the driver shouted: "Okay guys, we're here!"
The trucks opened the back doors and soldiers went out. They started looking around. There were huge buildings around them. They could hear the engines of aircraft taking off in the distance, while groups of Russian soldiers were all around them walking somwhere or jogging. Soon the two teams were lined up in front of the entrence of one of the huge buildings, again in front of their commander.
"Okay people, we are here. I am sure i don't have to tell you, but keep quiet and follow me" the commander turned away from them and walked inside the building, followed by the soldiers.
After a few minutes of walking down the stairs, they ran into a door in front of which was a Russian soldier. Pasic greeted him and tok out a keycard from his pocket, unlocking the door. As the door unlocked, the soldier opened it and kept it open for Pasic and the two teams to enter, after which he closed it and went back to his previous position.
The soldiers seen a team of people in labcoats exited one door, and entered another after unlocking it with a keycard, while a brown-haired woman was standing near the end of the hall holding a chart, and also in a labcoat. When they were halfway to her, Pasic turned to the soldiers and told them to wait.
He then walked to the woman, who smiled and gave him a hug. They exchanged a few words, after which Pasic turned to the soldiers and showed them to come to him with his hand.
Once the soldiers were near, the woman smiled at them and spoke in Serbian, but with a barely noticable Russian accent: "Hello and welcome to the research facility of the Russian military base in Nis. I am Natalya and i will guide you to your new equipment. Please follow me to the elevator."
She turned and they walked in one of the huge elevators at the end of the hallway. The woman pressed a button with a strange non-numerical symbol, the elevator doors closed, and it started going down very fast. When it finally stopped and the door opened, the soldiers could see a huge room full of people in labcoats. The woman exited the elevator, turned to them and smiled: "Please follow me to your equipment."
She turned and walked in one of the nerby doors, followed by the soldiers. Inside was a researcher with a suitcase. As soon as she noticed them, she walked to Natalya, spoke a few words in Russian and gave her the suitcase after unlocking it.
Pasic walked to her and greeted her, after which she exited the room. Natalya gave the suitcase to him, as she walked through another door.
Pasic turned to his soldiers, opened the suitcase and turned it towards them. It was full of keys.
"Okay men. Each of you gets a key" he said.
The soldiers tok the keys one by one, until there was only one left. Pasic turned the suitcase towards him and tok it, after which he closed the suitcase. "Follow me" he said, after which he entered the same door as Natalya.
They were once again in a room full of techny machines, but this time only Natalya was there.
Natalya smiled at them and pointed at another door with her chart: "Please take your equipment and go change in the next room, so i can explain to you how it works."
The soldiers entered the room, while Pasic stayed to talk to her. They found their lockers by following the numbers on the keys, opened them, and tok a bunch of strange looking jackets, trousers, helmets and other strange looking devices.
By the time the first soldier came out with the equipment on him, Pasic was already wearing it and was still talking to Natalya. After all the soldiers were ready, Pasic walked next to them, stopped and turned to Natalya.
Natalya smiled: "Okay, i can see you are all ready so we can start."
She turned to a big screen in front of them, started pushing buttons on her device to show each of their new 'toys' and explaining to the soldiers how the equipment works. They looked surprised and even a bit confused.
"Does anyone have any questions?" she asked after a few minutes have passed and she was done showing their new experimental devices.
A soldier rised his hand: "Yes, umm, are we under any risks using this new technology?"
Natalya smiled at him: "All the tests were completed, and it was already tested in a few low-risk operations. So i can tell you without a doubt: you have nothing to worry about."
The soldier thanked her, and after a few more questions they were told they will have to change back and carry their equipment in specific bags for protection.
Natalya smiled: "Okay then, now if you have no more questions, it's time to get familiar with your equipment before you leave."
The teams were directed into a room where they tried them out, and a few minutes later, after all the soldiers changed back, Natalya instructed them to follow her again. She exited the room followed by the teams and their commander all wearing bags of their new equipment, and after another trip down with the elevator and a few more halls and rooms filled by the Russian soldiers and researchers in lab coats, they were in something resembling a metro with big tubes going through whay they think is a tunnel under the ground.
While Natalya was standing on the side, Pasic turned to the soldiers and explained to them that the tubes are teir fast means of transport.
"Okay then troops, i will see you in a few minutes in Skopje" said the commander, while the soldiers were looking around, still a bit confused by everything.
Natalya walked to Pasic, stood next to him and turned to the soldiers: "I wish you a good trip and a successfuly completed mission." Some soldiers smiled and thanked her while others nodded, before they slowly started entering the tubes and sitting in their seats. While straping on their seatbelts, they could see Natalya hugging Pasic and giving him a kiss. They exchanged a few more words, before Pasic joined them in one of the seats. Natalya was looking at him with tears in her eyes, trying to smile. Pasic saluted her, after which the transport was started and his tube slowly started moving until it dissapeared from her sight.

QUOTE ((USA)Bruce @ 16 Feb 2018, 23:28)
Hey Sergei, my good old friend
I've missed you and I bet alot others have too, the videos on your signature, one of them is 404 so you best update that. Also the russian or what ever that's in Cyril should have some sort of English dubs or explanation on whats going on for us readers that doesn't know that.
Havent read all of the story yet, so I'll give you my first thoughts after that.
Also I guess I don't have to tell you that the whole "post WW3" things are harder to accept as cannon. So I doubt this'll be allowed the approval like you had for the Balkan Confederation a few years back
Thanks. I'll fix that. As far as the non-english is concerned, it's only there to add a little 'flavor' and enrich the story a bit for those who like to 'research' stuff(or in this case just use google translate). Most if not all of my texts have something hidden in them, i think you in english call those things 'easter eggs' or something. They don't change the story much but they are 'extra explanations'.
I know, the mod is about the big ww3 players in rotr universe so it's not like the mods even care much what happens beyond that. I just figured i should fill a hole in the storyline that i saw, kinda like what i did when i wrote about BF. I write mostly so the people who are from the South-Eastern Europe and/or know the situation there don't feel excluded, so i try to be realistic(as far as you can be in a futuristic scifi story). Adding it to the cannon would be a bonus, but it's not why i do it.
Anyways, episode two should be posted within this month.
