I love this.
nice update!
Holy! That's some cool Kodiak you got there mr, Hunter!
Very nice new Kodiak model Hunter!! It looks more modern like a real Leopard counter.
I know this is just a build variant of the ingame unit, but are they different tanks lore wise?
Maybe. But I think this one is much more modern and advanced compared to the usual modified T-80UM. Possibly upgraded T-90 variants.
Seems pretty much inspire with T-72 or 80 tank. Nice addition anyway.
Actualy it's losely based of a T90 turret.
It's not 100% accurate but that wasn't the intention to begin with
Those Kodiaks are absolutely beautiful.
So, Stinger soldiers are basically GLA Igla troopers? Is their performance any different?
Can you post a screenshot form the new Kodiak, Hunter?
They look better in game. They also remind me of Ukrainian derivatives of Soviet tanks.
Cool o.o
Its looking good
Does this mean more variations for Russia (and potentially others)? :3
Well if tier 0 vehicles get variants it would be cool o.o
It would also suggest that the more elite Russian army just throws whatever it can at the enemy in the same way the Chinese and GLA do rather than have a standardised, high-quality armoury.
It is also kind a realistic, since Russia irl uses thousands of MBTs,all of them being combined T-72s,T80s,T-90s,etc...
I find the stinger guy a bit too much, with these powerful aa units the gla already have.
Also the tank variants are a bit too much effort put in for such a small effect.
Well the Kodiak is an upgrade program for the vast existing Russian tanks since the 80s, 90s era and not a new vehicle made from scratch. It is perfectly reasonable for it to have different variants.
The other vehicles are not like that. Golems and Sentinels for example are completely new vehicles.
It is but it wasn't an upgrade applied directly on the ancient cold war vehicles. It was made from scratch, only the design of Object 279 was used as a base.
The original prototype never entered mass production to begin with.
But it sill isn't a completely new vehicle; that would imply the base is a totally original design.
The Golem is an original design since the Objekt 279 is a unique tank made war-ready by Aleksandr and then mass-produced while the Kodiak consists of a bunch of different T-whathaveyous slapped with the same umbrella name and upgraded in whatever ways required to make them all perform the same despite originally being completely different tanks. This is the same case like with the Scorpion, Battlemaster, Gattling Tank etc, since these are all very different vehicles that still are similar enough to be grouped under their respective umbrella name and get outfitted with whatever tech is needed to make them perform very similar. As an analogue, this would be like taking a bunch of Abrams, Challengers and Leopards, then outfit them all with similar tech to make them all perform basicly the same and give them a new umbrella name like "Guardian" or something.
New kodiak model in next release?
The variant thing becomes increasingly lame, there are already enough, it not too many variations for units. Whats the purpose even?
What i really fear is that will be a even larger overload in units and features for 2.0. ....shudders.....
As always, brilliant stuff
i think it is gratuitous to give Russia, a specialist in tank divisions, a horde varient cluster of tanks. I mean they are supposed to be more professional atleast as far as the tanks are concerned.
I'd suggest, don't give Russia the 'tank variants option' like the gla and chinese (as we already have the reserve tank drop ability to cash on the 'older' variants of the Russian tanks arsenal). Instead make all the Kodiaks same and uniform with the new camo (or a better camo if you can come up with). THat will retain the Russian image of a more professional army as compared to the ad hoc Chinese and the gla army that they are.
that said, this new camo is AWESOME!!
I'm shocked. People complaining about a mod, that they are no paying for, having more content and variety? I call this madness...
