I personally only buy physical copies of music, not only because it is better quality (most of the time, a few digital retailers do offer FLAC) but because I really do enjoy having something that is actually tactile that I can touch and feel (similar to how I feel about games). It makes the investment feel like you actually paid for something (and is quite often not that much more expensive than a digital copy), and quite a lot of my music comes from labels independent enough that the packaging isn't just your normal jewel case. I see album art (and the packaging) as much as an art form as the music itself is.
If I could support it financially, I would buy vinyl. I only buy digital in the occasional few times where the music has been either been out of print or ridiculously hard to find. I'd rather you not vote at all if you don't buy music at all. I understand that a lot of you don't buy music (which to an extent I agree with, buying from major labels makes it go 50% to the label CEO, 45% to the label and 5% to the artist, whereas I buy from independent labels as much as I can as that's more like 20% label 80% artist) but this is no thread to argue against others that do actually purchase music. In other news, I doubt this will get much activity as I really don't think many of you actually buy music, but I can hope. -------------------- |

I buy CDs in any form of packaging. No vinyls for me, thank you.
I'll only consider purchasing digital music if compressed/uncompressed lossless is an option. That rules out iTunes (and many other major online distros). -------------------- [Sources] CARAT HD-1, Sony E445, Cowon S9 [Amplifiers] PA2V2, Corda XXS, Corda Arietta [Headphones] Audio Technica ATH-AD900, Beyer DT250-80, Head-Direct RE0, Soundmagic PL50, Koss PortaPro http://www.last.fm/user/warisz00r JOIN SWR FORUMS LAST.FM GROUP |

I buy CDs simply because buying music online isn't attractive because of the DRM. When I want to buy music I will go for the CD for the extra value that the physical copy gives me.

I only buy CDs from my favorite artists. I refuse to pay for MP3s. I just pirate them DRM free.

I buy CD if I can. But most of my music is impossible to find in UK or I already have it.
I only download lossless too, I will NEVER pay for compressed music to download. -------------------- [Sources] ASUS Essence ST, iPod Touch 64GB [Amplifiers] DIY HA5000, iBasso D2+ Boa [Headphones] Audio Technica ATH-AD1000PRM, Ultimate Ears TF10 Pro |

I often use digital downloads simply because a lot of the artists I like are hard to find
