So I was playing as Gen. Ironside against a medium GLA opponent on Lost Highway and I was busy just building up my forces while watching my base defenses make quick work of anything over the bridge and attacking forces going for my expansion bases.
I finally had all my counters for dual Missle Silo's ready at 0 and my collection of bradley's, wraiths and mammoths all lined up for the kill inbase. So I thought: "Do I risk my bradleys by sending them first against their stingers and tunnel networks or do I send in my heavy armor first?" I then remembered I had my assortment of planes ready to go and I was going : "Dur! The bombers, duh!" So aside from my obvious openings of bombers and armor and missiles, what are your deathblow openings? I'm curious to how you open your winning plays. Well if you're compstomping, don't bother. A rush will either be completely useless, or will completely kill of the AI.
Online however, it depends against factions. For China and another Ironside, I'll go for Vulcan + Bradley + Javelin (in the Bradely) + Stryker (not necessary, but its healing is very useful). For USA and Leang, first unit is always Gladiator, then followed by Bradleys and Javelins against USA (needed against pesky Humvees), or versus Leang, Wraths (against the Dragon) + Javelin + Vulcan + Stryker. When against GLA, it's always Bradley first to kill forward tunnelling Workers, crush gathering Workers, and just create general chaos. Then, the usual Javelin + Vulcan + Stryker will also be useful. |

If playing vs. humans, rushing with infantry in strykers really is a fun thing to do (no bradley abuse).
Against AI's, i rely on tank-destroyers, gladiators and -most important- Howitzers... Nothing else needed -------------------- "Under communism, man exploits man. Under capitalism, it's just the opposite." --- John Kenneth Galbrith
