I've downloaded and played C&C Untitled for a while and IMO one of the best mods out there and I've been wanting to do some personal tweaks for it to suit my preferences and I ran into a few problems. I'm no stranger to mods as I've done many scripts, data editing and writing some of my own code but I'm pretty stumped on this one.

For some strange reason whenever I go to make overwrite the original CCU INI files with my own edited ones using FinalBig editor the game crashes. Even with the most simple of changes the game just says no and brings me back to the desktop. Can someone explain to me what I'm doing wrong?

For those wanting to know what I am editing I've done some simple armor, weapon and object tweaking to make infantry more useful and overall trying to make it slightly "realistic" in a way.

Also one descriptive edit that I had to change (and the game still crashed) when I started playing the USA because it bugged the heck out of me. Marines are NOT basic infantry of the US Army. Marines are infantry of the United States Marine Corps (USMC), not the US Army, get it right! Yes, yes vanilla USA is supposedly a combined arms using a little bit of all branches but come on? Seriously? Sorry I have kin and close friends who served in the Marines and that just really got under my skin.

One last thing, I've been trying to code the enhanced soundtrack into this and that really made it blow up to the point launcher wouldn't work. Help, please?

Don't edit the big files directly, extract the inis and place then in the correct directories, it works better that way.

Also, with regards to the Marines being basic infantry, like you said, the US Army in generals is not the literal US army, it is the combination of all the US military branches. It used to be that Rangers were cast as basic infantry, while Marines were the post tech, advanced infantry unit. It was changed to reflect the fact that Rangers are not grunts but a special operations unit, and also because Marines have that "tip of the spear", "first strike" mindset, getting to the fight before anyone else, so their places were switched.

We are not saying one branch is higher than the other, that's just how things worked out.

I understand, it was just a small pet peeve is all, nothing against the modder. Hell I nick pick technical things like that from other games all the time and overtime I find a way to mod it to my liking just make myself feel better because that's how I roll, tongue.gif I do agree the Marines are the tip of the spear where as Rangers were more surgical and urban combat specialists.

So what I understand is extract the CCUINI file then put them into the default INI folder in that directory?
