Greetings, everyone! We at SWR are looking for a talented individual to do lore for us and our mods such as Rise of the Reds and other/future projects. This job would include the following tasks:
1) Creating and designing updates (Photoshop knowledge not a necessity but its a plus) 2) Write descriptions for units and other objects 3) Write stories for our mods 4) Write dialog for scripted events in game (coding knowledge not necessary) 5) Write community announcements The applicant MUST: 1) Work as a team 2) Have a flexible schedule (Especially on Sundays) 3) Be communicative and sociable 4) Always try to release high quality material 5) You must at least be fluent in English 6) Be capable of making swift decisions and be capable of writing suddenly under a deadline 7) Be an exemplary team member 8) Be familiar with the lore of the project you are working on So you are interested? Here's what we want from you: 1) You must give us a sample of your work (preferably something recent so its closer to how you are writing currently) 2) Tell us your time zone 3) A paragraph explaining why you want the job and why we should pick you. This thread will remain open until an applicant is picked then it will be closed without notice. The lucky writer that gets to join our family will initially be put into a beta besting position for a limited time in probation but if successful he/she will become eventually a full fledged SWR Team Member. Everything must be sent to me (Overdose). I'll answer any questions you might have in this thread. Good luck to all applicants! -------------------- |

Good luck to everyone who applies. From what I have been told, it's unusual for the team to put out an ad like this.
I recall the "Don't call us, we'll call you" policy for becoming part of the team. I have a question however, would the accepted writer gain access to any .PSD files of standing SWR updates? As you've seen, I tried before to copy some of the style elements you all use, but I can't do it too well. I only worked out how to get scanlines on it recently -------------------- |

What is important here is your ability as a writer. Everything else matters very little or doesn't matter at all.
A small note: From now on if you wish to link to something just paste the URL directly. It makes it easier to show your application to the leaders. -------------------- |

I sorta have writer's block and need a topic/template for a sample, strangely. My timezone is pretty funny, although I have over 10+ hours to spare at home after school for 2009, you guys are probably sleeping -------------------- |

I just put that there because it doesn't hurt having more people that know how to use it. Let's see around 10pm to 2am (My timezone is -3) Sundays we work on updates usually. Go ahead and send the info if you still want to try. -------------------- |

This thread will likely be closed by Tuesday with a verdict and I'll stop accepting applications Monday evening. We're currently processing and reviewing all the applications sent so far.

Welcome to the forums btw. If you haven't seen already, the SWR Team are working on several mods at the moment and intend to finish what they started before taking on any new projects (this was said in another topic). -------------------- |

I'm not saying that you start working on the project tomorrow or something... all I mean is that you might find these ideas helpful when you start your next project AFTER getting done with the curreent projects! got the point????? In spite of your posts here, that is not the topic here, so please discuss it elsewhere. Thanks.
Edit: Apologies to the mods if I have been doing your job lately, I'm a bit too enthusiastic at times. This post has been edited by Shock: 31 Aug 2009, 17:17 -------------------- |
