Welcome Allied Commanders and Soviet Comrades...
RA2 New Age for War is mod that balances RA2 gameplay...
And also adds new type units and finally...mod have it's own style of gameplay...

It's fine to use public assets, but you got a lot of them for your mod. Every new unit is a public asset.

I don't see anything interesting with this mod since these assets have been used so many times they bore me.

Why not edit the voxels or create your own stuff as well?

You know Supernova mod for YR and MadHQ aren't you tongue.gif
And also i give credit to each author that created voxel, SHP, cameo that I use in my mod.
And you know Lao Tze proably...
Like do i look like a voxel or SHP artist to you ?
Nope...i am just a modder.
I want to make my mod balanced as well as adding new units to the game...
The most important thing in a mod is balance...
Not the look of units in the game...
*sigh*
If you are one of gamers that want units to look very nice...
Then check mental omega or popular yr mods instead. :/
I am not Speeder you know.
Speeder can gain access to very very good looking voxels while i can't...

I do know you gave credit to them, I read the descriptions. The problem here is that you are using too many public voxels. I've seen plenty of different mods use these voxels that they become overused and uninteresting to see.

While I do agree that gameplay > graphics, what you're doing is akin to a video game developer using 8 bit graphics to make a video game. Don't get me wrong, there are some good games out there with that kind of style, but it's rare to see that many that are good, however. That reminds me, what exactly are you doing to improve the gameplay other than add units? It takes more than just that. What features are you planning to add?

Need I remind you that you are posting this on a public forum for other people to see. You want to attract people to your mod, so do stuff that will grab people's attention. If you can't handle criticism, then good luck. You're gonna need a lot of it.

That's why you either edit what you have access to or have to end up creating your own stuff at times.

Expect adding new units...
RA2 New Age for War has it's own unique gameplay...
This gameplay is very similar to Generals and ZH gameplay in comparison...
Like implementing secondary ECO logic from Generals into RA2...
New tech tree system...
New stolen tech units...
New units...
New buildings...
Changes on infantry, vehicles and buildings and also superweapon stuff...
New unbuildable unique paratroopers for each side...
New AA tier logic...
New unique monster tank, artillery, T1 unit and T2 infantry (if there any infantry available for that country only) for countries...
And also warheads...

But somehow people are interested in mod...
Tho it depends...
If i post some stuff rapidly the mod becomes the most popular mod of RA2 if i do that...
However if i don't post stuff rapidly the mod's popularity decreases...

Nah, one has options. Constant updates create a huge but nondedicated fanbase, which might go away the next day. Constant quality updates - even if they are low in numbers - creates a smaller but more dedicated fanbase. I prefer the latter though.

Do not use TibEd. It just messes up INIs every time. Besides, you cannot use Ares tricks with it. It's not a novice tool to ease up the first steps, it's a barrier from proper modding in a disguise. There's a reason why noone, noone use TibEd.

Sounds like you bit more than what you can chew, but proper planning and research is the way to go. Not TibEd. PPM is your friend in this case.

And also YR modding...
Right now i am out of ideas.
Really.
And also i am not gonna mod YR.
Tho i might can work on RA2 New Age for War once again with no problems...
Tho right now as i said...
Run out of ideas...

Plus my entire problem was when making RA2 New Age for War was XCC Mix Editor.
After that i decided to use XCC Mixer.
Other than that i had no problems with it.
