Hope you all enjoy our little April fools joke update last week.
We're now back bringing you some proper news on ROTR development.
Before we dive head first in to developing 2.0 we're going to squeeze in one more major release that will be known as version 1.87
This release will address some of the current problems in game balance, bugs and introduce some new things for all factions.
I'm sure you all remember the Backbear render we posted in early January.
We're happy to announce that its its coming to ROTR 1.87 in shape of a new rank5 generals power called "Ursa Division" which will alow you to build a single Blackbear.
In addition to that all all Kodiaks, Golems and Sentinels build after choosing this generals power wil be build as Veterans.

Additionally Boris can now be trained directly from the barracks and no longer requires a weapon load out to be selected beforehand.
Instead Boris can now chose his weapon load out in the field, this also means that you can select a new weapon load out every time he falls in action and is retrained from the barracks.

And as one of the guys who have heard its voiceover already I can assure you it is not piloted by bears in ushanka hats (they drive Sentinels), but piloted by a professional crew of actual people.

It is good to know that has news on the way.
Ursa Division will be very powerful, if someone thought that ECA could go up against Russian tanks in some cases it is time to rethink this.
The new Boris is much more attractive, its versatility and provide an extra dose of destruction; the new icon is wonderful (more compatible with the quality of the other icons).
Waiting to see more 2.0 content, particularly new mechanics still in version 1.87.

Well u know, Blackbear itself isnt the main threat. The veteran army is the real one. So if u lost ur Blackbear to a neutron bomb, Kill it with some hinds, sacrifice some more hinds to kill the pandora and rape the eneny with veteran army

Great job guys! Looking forward for new release!:). Blackbear is awesome! So now Russia will have 3 rank 5 GP? Or Ursa Div. will replace some of the current GP? Armoured reserves are good too. Idk about topols. Anyway it's very good news. I hope we will able to play 1.87 update this month:)

Seeing as how much trouble gave the BB-Senti (based on the testers feedback) how hard was this nut to be cracked?? how many rapetors did you guys had to use on this?

Keep in mind that those stats are still subject to change, since 1.87 is in beta stage.
But yeah Black Bear is hard to take down, but not impossible.

The thing is slow too, and can be stopped easily with Microwave Tanks or Jarmen Kell or Black Lotus or Pandora or another Black Bear.

Looking the black camouflage texture of the new Blackbear I thought of something aesthetic to be added:
After being picked the 'Ursa Division' the Kodiaks, Golems and Sentinels could be produced with a new texture equal to the Blackbear (with darker shades) in order to visually represent the 'Ursa Division'; certainly it conveys the feeling of an 'elite Russian division'.
It would still be easily recognizable the Blackbear among the other tanks (other Sentinels) because of its visual peculiarities.
Would not it be something interesting and worthy?
