"No. Not even in the face of Armageddon. Never compromise."

I do not know what to say about Yugoslavia, the fact is that after the end of World War II there was a revolution in the aerospace field, in a few years the Allies and Soviets have developed technologies to explore space, does not seem plausible or logical that both sides have managed to develop such technologies by own means coincidentally after the war ended.

After the defeat of Germany, the United States initiated to operation 'Peperclip', which aimed to recruit top people of the Third Reich to continue the secret projects of Hitler's Germany, to own NASA would have been created by ex-nazis, and it makes sense that Germany was the only country that had advanced knowledge on rockets and propulsion techniques to conduct the project.

The Soviet Union must have done the same as the USA to develop its ambitious space project, however little we know about what really happened behind the scenes of history.

That so called documentary is a complete joke, especially the part where it mentions the airbase Željava for which it claims it was some sort of secret space center, while in fact it was just the airbase with the aircraft shelters dug in deep inside of the nearby mountain in order to protect the aircraft from possible nuclear strike. In fact Željava was the biggest object of its kind if former Yugoslavia, besides the Željava there where another two airfields equipped with the underground shelters for the aircraft: Slatina airbase located near Priština and Golubovci airbase located near Podgorica, also there was was whole bunch of other underground command and communication centers as well as underground shelters for fuel and ammunition.

Underground aircraft shelters at the
Željava

Slatina

Golubovci

Atomic War Command located near Konjic in BiH

in case you want to know more about these objects you should check out these links, especially the one about the Željava

Well I am not so sure that this is a complete joke, but I will not go in deeper debate of
this information validity since I am not really competent to speak about that stuff.
I know that Zeljava was state of the art underground airbase,
but as for Yugo space program . . . Well I somehow think that it was present just on the paper . . .
But I would be not so wondered if they really started something back in the day.
