1.85 USA Paradrop CTD, Due to Chemical Suits + Veteran Company Options

Edit: Caused by combo of Chem suits and Vet co. Crashes when an affected unit is trained or deployed.

Specifically the Green Beret, Delta and Humvee drop. Caused by Chemical Suits.

I've tested this repeatedly and can confirm said upgrade is the culprit; played several games as USA generously using the paradrop GP throughout each match without researching Chemical Suits and game runs smoothly. I even tested if it is caused by other upgrades such as Advanced Training, Support Aircraft Armour or Countermeasures, none. Researching Chemical Suits then attempting to deploy airborne paradrop of any GP rank causes instant CTD with the standard 'Encountered serious error' message. This is the only bug I've encountered so far. The other factions performed perfectly.

Played on Windows 8, in admin mode and against AI. No compatibility mode. There is no prior RotR or ZH file on my machine. The First Decade disc.

I've been able to call in paradropped units after researching chemical suits. But I still get a CTD when playing as USA after about 20-30mins. There's so specific event I can tie it to.

I did a small experiment and YES indeed the game crashed after chemical suits upgrade. Dont upgrade it, and the game stays on. Dev team, i think chemical suits upgrade is buggy.

I just tested this myself and no such error occurd when paradropping chem suit upgraded greenberets or deltas.

this is likely caused by something else and needs more investigation.

Another anecdote (I posted in a different thread yesterday):

Playing as USA again, I did not upgrade to chem suits and had no crash.

Of course, I have no idea if this is just coincidental or what could be the cause.

Made another test based on this thread. Looks like deploying paradrop without Veteran Company GP but with Chemical Suits causes no crash. Also paradropping with Veteran Company but without Chemical Suits doesn't crash the game either. However having both Veteran Company and Chemical Suit causes crash.

Same problem here. In addition to the paratroopers, the game also crashes when I try to train infantry from the barracks, specifically the ones affected by Veteran Company.

Ok tested and confirmed its indeed only if you upgrade to veteran company AND have chemical suits at the same time.

I'm not entirely certain why this happens but i will get to the bottom of this

Also, who even uses Veteran Company? Is it even viable?
