You obviously need to have a mature voice (which happens sooner for some than others) so yea above 18 would be desirable.

Well I ale adry have the voice and been trying out some accent so far the easier accent to do is Russian and Brit If you've been trying it out, send me samples. Here is some things that you (anyone who wants to apply) are going to require if you plan on applying, just so you're all aware. 1.A good, adaptable voice with charisma- able to control and facilitate your emotions at will. 2.A good quality microphone with as little background noise or static as possible- I personally use a Blue Yeti microphone myself. Snowglobes or any studio microphones would be good as well. 3.You have to be relatively mature- both mentally and physically. Sure I am crude and even downright crazy at times but im a full grown man and when it comes to business, I expect a professional approach as well as a voice that doesn't make me think you still haven't gotten out of or even hit puberty. Now if you're just starting out in this that's fine- but I expect you to have the mettle to carry through with this is you're applying. I got some tryout scripts and other tools to help get someone started but when it comes down to it you have to be worth the investment of time and energy to be blunt. I'm not here to appease to people's feelings, if they got a dream of voice acting in general or want to contribute to this team by utilizing their talents I'll certainly lend them a hand and pull them up on their feet. But I'm also a busy guy and don't like my time wasted so please consider the following 3 points and look at yourself honestly if you match those requirements. If you think you got what it takes, contact me. This post has been edited by ComradeCrimson: 12 Dec 2014, 23:05 -------------------- |

Dammit, I have no chance then. What I have as voice is just so-so and doubt if it can be considered as adaptable. xD

I shall volunteer, should I manage to get a microphone. However, I need to also know the desirable distance from the microphone.

That depends on the mic you're working with - also your own experimenting.

Heh, I've always wanted to give voice acting a go, unfortunately there's little demand for a strong New Zealand accent in most games

Hey, I'm available for voice acting, if anyone needs English, America, German, or some other voices (generally, I can pull most voices off, though I do have limits). I'm all set mic-wise, and if you need new samples (last samples were low quality, on a fairly poor mike), just let me know. |

d'ooooooooooooooooooh just being curious, what are the criteria for a good clip? 1. Quality of the voice- how well are you doing an accent/expressing emotion/how believable it is. 2. Quality of the recording- how the actual recording sounds, is there static or background noise? Is your voice crisp and clear and not interefered with/warped? (Mind this is discluding intentional warping that may be done through editing that's necessary for a character.) 3. Your enthusiasm and devotion to your role. Ties in with 1; are you actually putting effort into this and do you sound like the character you are portraying? -------------------- |
