As some of you may know, I happen to have my own Generals ZH mod, Frontline Chaos. Short said, it's a TC mod, replacing the Generals sides and universe with ones of my own. It's hosted on Project Perfect Mod (PPM), because it's my main forum and the admin offered me hosting there. So far I'm doing everything myself. This goes pretty well, excluding UWV mapping and texturing, which is a pain for me to do as it takes me very long to get a meh-ish result. Gameplay wise, the mod has gone to different stages as many mods have. I've now decided to focus on finishing one side first, before continuing on the other. This also includes testing if the side is balanced. Here comes my dilemma:
Currently, all testing I've done is against the AI. As I've learned, playing vs an omniscient, cheating AI is completely different then against another human player, who has the same limits as you have (no cash bonus, has to scout, etc). I've done a couple of matches vs human players, but that was in a much earlier stage of the mod, and isn't usable anymore. A while ago I posted a thread on PPM with the request for beta testers. A few months later, and still zero response. I know PPM isn't the most Generals loving community, but I would expect a bit better response than this.

So, how do other mods get people to test their mod with? Currently, I think that my mod is in a deadlock situation: people don't want to test the mod because it looks unfinished (models are there, but mostly lack textures), and I lack the interest to continue because I have no-one to test it with, and I can't do this whole UWV/texturing job properly. Nowadays I'm more working on the backstory and sometimes implementing some small new ideas/models than actually doing serious testing and trying to bring this mod to an (initial) release. I know the current state can be blamed on me because I want to do everything myself instead of getting someone to do the stuff I can't do (UWV mapping/texturing), and that I may expect too much of other people. Not to sound desperate, but I'd hate to see this mod go to waste after three years of work on it.
