I just stumbled across Gunnerkrigg Court.
It's a free webcomic; like most manga, it tells one main storyline, but it's full color, and the style is definitely western. The setting is an intriguing mix of fantasy/scifi, a bit like Harry Potter, but crazier and darker. Up until now, there are 27 chapters online (between 15 and 30 pages each). IMHO this thing beats almost any manga I've read this far in worldbuilding, character development AND storytelling (with Eternal Sabbath it's a close call, though; Claymore was also fun, but got disappointing lately). Being a sucker for postapocalyptical scenarios and dark fantasy may cloud my judgement somewhat, but this is definitely quality work, and I'm just amazed that it's FREE (you can still support the author by bying the hardcovers). Did you already know about this comic? Opinions? -------------------- "Under communism, man exploits man. Under capitalism, it's just the opposite." --- John Kenneth Galbrith
