Which is the most amazing game/s (Old Skool or New) you have played in your life, until the present day?

My answer for the first ten games would be (in that order):
UNREAL, HALF-LIFE (OPPOSING FORCE), HALF-LIFE 2, Quake II, Quake IV, Return to Castle Wolfenstein, Soldier of Fortune (Double Helix), FAR CRY 1&2, C&C Kane's Wrath, C&C Zero Hour and the list is endless.

Guessing none of these are old school? Funny thing is, have never even heard of these yet but I guess, while you were playing these, I was studying in college or probably working somewhere

You said old school or new.

And Red Dead Redemption is One of the Rockstar's (The company that made GTA Series) famous games, It became game of the year. It's equal to GTA V in all aspects. Go read about it.
Unfortunatly it's only available for PS3 and XBOX 360. There was no PC release. I highly recommend everyone to play this game, It worths renting a console.

L.A Noire is another great game made by Rockstar. This one has PC version, Go read about this one as well. It's lovely.

The other games are awesome as well, Especially Don't Starve, so far it's the best survival game i've ever seen.

If you say so, perhaps each of them is beyond good! But I've no idea about those. And due to lack of time from work alongwith social and family responsibilities, I can't seem to try out new games since a few years now.


I've a PS3, PS4 and a Nintendo Wii. All of these are eating dirt. There is nothing in this world which can beat PC Gaming, be it the graphics, the resolution or the gameplay.

My first and my most memorable game is "Spyro the dragon" for PS1 (It was my firs game ever, and the last game for PS1 i managed to finally complete at 100% before my Ps finally broke down).
Some other, which i like the most in my lifetime:
-Metal Gear Solid (PS1)
-Twisted Metal (all of its parts, PS1)
-C&C Red Alert 2 (my first game for PC; because of that game RTS became my favourite kind of games)
-DOOM (firstly played PS1 DOOM, then managed to play at school on the DOS-computer; i still play DOOM II with different Wads sometimes)
-C&C Tiberian Sun (including Firestorm)
-S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Shadow of Chernobyl
-Space Rangers and Space Rangers 2: Dominators (one of a few, and definetely the best Russian PC games made ever; it is not widely known abroad, but it is OK: not everyone can fully understand a mix of Space-based RPG, interactive fiction and 3D-RTS is. I even play it now (they made a new re-edition, which i instantly bought)
-Monster Hunter and Monster Hunter Freedom Unite (PSP, had a great time playing the second part with my friends. Shame we didn't hunt down the White Fatalis after all.)

Oh, how could i forget about C&C Generals?

I've had heard about this one when my dad bought a brand new PS2 for me in the yesteryears. But never got the opportunity to buy and play it. Oh, I've had a PS2 as well but a few years back I gave it away to the son of the security personnel of our home building, free of cost because they couldn't afford and the console had become outdated as well. My favorite on PS2 was Gran turismo.


I like DOOM3. I've it on my PC While the original DOOM on DOS was something we used to carry on a floppy disk while in school and play it!

Had played Battlefield 3 once when I was at my cousins and I liked it! Never got an opportunity to play it again though...


try out other mods mate, specifically the one from Beng's LDN Mod! It's an amazing mod which gives super abilities and powers to Laser, Demolition & Nuke Generals. Watch a couple of videos on ModDB and you would know what I'm talking about!

Have you played "Return to Castle Wolfenstein"? It is developed with ID's Quake engine. Pretty old but an amazing game with content from the Nazi era.

This mod is really underrated. It's so much fun to play in LAN.

As for my favourite games. My top ten in no particular order:

Path of Exile (probably my overall favourite game by now)
CnC Generals (Great game, I prefer modding over playing though)
Age of Empires 2 (Still fun to play in multiplayer)
Call of Duty 4 (My best school memories )
Call of Duty Black Ops 2 (Most fun I've had with an FPS game online)
Warcraft 3 (Great game, I'd still play it if had widescreen support :-/)
Half Life 2 (Best Singleplayer FPS)
Diablo 2 (Got replaced by PoE, but an all time classic)
Battlefield (I played pretty much all of them. No particular one stands out, but they're all fun to play. LAN > Online though.)
Jedi Knight 3: Jedi Academy (Best Star Wars game so far)

Honorable Mentions:

Counterstrike, World of Warcraft classic, Trackmania, F.E.A.R, FIFA (on PS3), WWE Smackdown: Here comes the Pain (PS2), Pokemon (Gameboy), Flatout 2

Used to be an avid fan of this one until the game was hacked brutal with only the cheating around! Said that, while I was frustrated in those times, I used to enjoy playing Medal of Honor as an alternative


You bet! Although I like the Opposing Force storyline over this one.


Can't agree more. Besides, Diablo 3 was all hyped! Not even close to Diablo 2.

are the games which I'd list as my all-time favourites.

Namco X Capcom is a strong contender to appear on this list though - although I still haven't finished it, the fanboy aspect got really strong on this one. Mafia 1, Soul Calibur 2, Hogs of War and Sims 3 receives honorable mentions.

Also, playing arcade-friendly genres (fighting, gunbased games like Time Crisis) are more befitting for a console because obvious reasons.

Not in order, I love them all:

Diablo 2 (still playing it, glorious 800 × 600 !)
Grim Dawn (solid alternative to Diablo 3)
Borderlands 1, 2 and Pre-Sequel (gore, check. silly humour, check. fun, check. babes, check)
Metal Gear Solid 5 (hated the previous, because of wonky camera system. But I'd love to kill Quiet so she finally earns her name)
Splinter Cell series (Conviction sucks)
Dying Light (parkour + zombies, what else do you need ?)
C&C Generals Zero Hour (especially modded)
C&C Red alert 2 & 3 (2 because of childhood memories, 3 because gameplay. And babes )
Soul Calibur 2 & 3 (one day I'll do a Voldo cosplay)
Re-Volt (yo dawg, I heard you like simulation, so here's a simulation of a simulation of racing. Mario kart without blue shell, hell yeah !)

Rainbow 6 Siege (this FPS is loads of fun and underated)

Nope KOTOR 1+2 are both better IMO and they deserve to be on my list.

Basis some of the game mentions by Skitt, Graion, Maelstrom & tobae, I suppose, I'm still living in the stone age My likes are more from the late 90's time because obviously I got busy building my life thereafter

Moreover, whats up with having RA in everyone's favourites? Guess, to each his own.

I've heard good reviews for Re-Volt on Dreamcast but haven't played it. Although I like more of racing madness like Destruction Derby, Nascar, Moto Racing & Formula 1. In terms of the console, Gran turismo takes the cake


While RE being a good game, Halo Reach is all about teamplay & frags, if I'm not wrong? Something like UT or Quake III Arena?

Anyone interested in or like any "third person shooter"? I'm a fan of games like Max Payne 1&2, tombraider, etc. It was fun knowing (an idea of) what peeps around like and where I stand in the latest gaming scenario across the globe. Many thanks!

Only game I ever platinumed and I'm gonna do it again cause I first played this on ps4 and now I'm on ps5. So I'll have platinumed this game twice.
