So why not just collect them anywhere? You don't need to read them. When it isn't even allowed to write about them, they are most likely lost. That's pretty stupid.

Yeah, a new suggestion forum was never created primarily because we already have most things planned out and we don't need it any more; The idea bucket has been filled and refilled numerous times.
Secondly, and often unspoken benefit of not having a suggestion forum,is that it's a newb magnet. A horde of new members means more forum drama, and we'd rather not have that, especially if we didn't need the forum in the first place. I don't mean it in a bad way, but the new SWR forums is a lot cleaner and more focused than Fallout Studios. New members are certainly welcome here, but we'd rather not have a plethora of them register, swarm to the suggestion forum, submit an asinine idea and then never post again (or worse, breaking random rules left and right). At this point in the development of ShW and RotR, public suggestions are simply not needed anymore because most of the future content is already planned out.
The chance of something productive coming from a suggestions forum is generally quite slim, too. |

The chance of something productive coming from a suggestions forum is generally quite slim. Well played Rayburn, your topic made my day; it was a very enjoyable and amusing read. Heh, back in the day when I suggested things, I think that my suggestions falls into 4/6 of those catagories. Thankfully one of my suggestions was actually useful and accepted, so those posts weren't a complete waste of space. Though I think you should add to 'the useful' type that the useful things are generally incredibly small things... and that it's more like 1 in 1000 or 1 in 10000 that are useful. In fact, in all the time I've spent with SW suggestions, I only remember 3 ideas being accepted, one being my helicopters should be repairable at repair pad, Juhziz's toxin trator replacement and something else (Kassad's Rocket Site?). Plus, accepted and implemented are two totally different things. I forget if the Helo repair was ever implemented, I think it was but I'd have to check; the tox tractor replacement was implemented... sort of (it's still a WWII German vehicle, but the vehicle originally suggested was something different from the Camel); and if the Rocket site was an accepted idea, it got implemented in the internals and then got scrapped. So what do we finally have? 1.5/3 ideas accepted were implemented, 1.5/10 shit-tons of ideas suggested implemented. Final verdict: nearly nothing ever gets implemented. -------------------- |

``Final verdict: nearly nothing ever gets implemented.´´
Indeed and due to this incredibly small chance that makes the idea of a UFO landing in front of the White House within the next hour seem likely, suggestions are no longer welcome: Because for every good idea with a 20/80 chance of being implemented, there'll be like 200 posts suggesting overpowered Abrams tanks, Chinese gun samurai, GLA suicide airliners or a bloody Megazord that becomes available at rank 5, needs its own factory and costs over 9000 dollar - you get the idea. |
