I know there are several individual modeling, skinning etc contest going around on most forum but i thought it would be awesome to have a team based on. Heres my post from the contest on Fallout Studios.
QUOTE
I know we have a few contests on the go at the moment but i thought it would be quite cool if we had a team based contest as well as the individual ones.
Mod teams would compete against each other designing unique units for Zero Hour. Because the whole team would be working together, you can do what ever you can to the unit (model, skin and provide in-game footage) to make it look the best.
I think it might be pretty fun to have the teams competing against each other. If enough people are up for it, I'll post some rules and i will run the contests. The contests would be Zero hour based due to the amount of Zero Hour modders on here and all footage would need to be taken from Zero Hour. Poly would also need to fit zero hour standards. All models could become public after the contest has finished.

Although it would be hosted on Fallout, almost everyone on here is a member and you were all once hosted there so i thought it would be awesome if SWR participated in the contest. Here is a link to the thread..

I'd expect SWR to be busy fine-tuning their next release. But I don't speak for them

Every one will be busy but we will have long deadlines to allow more mods to enter.

Does it really have to be a 'mod' team though? Can it just be a small ensemble of people?

i think you idea for this competition has few flaws as how you are presenting it now here is a few reasons why :

#1 I'm pretty sure your idea of generals poly counts is different from mine and ontop of that the function of the unit has affect on this too for example propaganda airships are not something you are going to spam so you can have alot more polygons on them as say a basic tank

#2 expecting a entire mod team to participate in something like this is simply not going to happen with anyone sane unless it can actualy bring in something good for the mod project or group it's self like the awards on moddb.

It may be nice for some people who have alot of spare time but most of us have fulltime jobs and other things and we only do modding to kill some of our spare time as a hobby so just going on a competition like that is not something that's very apealing unless it would actualy bring the winners something.

Might sound greedy or something but that's just the way it is specialy if you want to draw the attention of a group of people rather than induviduals.
