All of them? Or did the island nations manage to retain the same organization, albeit lesser in numbers and influence?

Hasn't been much lore about Indonesia, or the Philippines. AFAIK, the Philippines are a US ally since one of their floating fortresses was stationed in Manila. There might be GLA cells in Indonesia. MARS would most likely suggest you write a fan-fic to what happened to Indonesia, or any other South-East Asian nation outside the GAPA.

from this thread:
QUOTE (Akoito Pilipino @ 15 Sep 2013, 18:52) *
When the GAPA was established, what happened to the ASEAN? Did it dissolve?

QUOTE (MARS @ 15 Sep 2013, 19:22) *
It presumably still exists but the continental Asian countries have been pushed out of it by China. The Philippines, the insular portion of Malaysia, Indonesia and Brunei would still be in it.

I see. Though I doubt that some powerful ASEAN members like Vietnam and Singapore would submit themselves to China's influence so easily.

Also, if Southeast Asia would have a bigger role in Zero Hour-ROTR universe, I believe it would focus more on countering GLA cells in Asia-Pacific, along with ASEAN's awkward cooperation with China, given the latter's aggressive expansion into South China Sea. Well, fan-fics of some member-states may come as soon as possible.

I doubt they could do anything against a military superpower with 6000000+ soldiers at their command. I do believe however the GAPA creation was largely... peaceful, at the greatest extent of the term. I.e. no military or civilian casualties. That we know of. Hrm.

Point taken. Well, could the peaceful rise of GAPA be the result of China's inflitration into local governments through the MSS?

PLEASE REMEMBER that the ROTR timeline is alternate history in the future. We're talking ROTR-Vietnam and ROTR-Singapore not their real-life equivalents. Go write a fan fic! biggrin.gif

I think I might be inspired to create a fan-fic about what happened to Indonesia in the ROTR universe. For that, I'll start thinking about how the story's going to be.

Nice. I'm still sorting out ideas for the Philippines, though.
