Rise of a hero

(Based on true events)

It was a particularly hot autumn. GLA had escalated its operations, causing inconvenience to the ECA administration.

On December, the leader of the organization Warlord Anwar Sulaymaan, along with his henchman Jarmen Kell and 12 more militants were in a hideout near a mountain village. Suddenly the village reached trucks full of ECA soldiers. Jarmen was ordered by Sulaymaan to make a recon. When he returned, after half an hour, he reported that enemy force of 200-250 men was moving from the village to their hideout. The ridge north of the village was covered by dense fog. Jarmen, with a few men, launched a surveillance role. The order of Sulaymaan was firing at the enemy once approached to notify the others, who had occupied current positions on the ridge. At 15:00 Jarmen opened fire when the ECA troops approached at about 20 meters. His men threw a few molotovs and attempted disengagement. The ECA troops, however, a fact that was unaware of the GLA men, were divided into two sections. Performing outflanking movement, promoted and from the north towards the cave. However, Jarmen and his men retreated rapidly towards the others and altogether proceeded to the west near another village. Unsuspecting both ECA sections did not realize that the "prey" had escaped. Coming from the opposite direction, with extremely reduced visibility due to the fog, opened fire against one another. When they realized their mistake they were too late. Fifteen ECA soldiers were lying dead by the gunfire of their compatriots. The injured stood at 37.

A secret document stolen from the ECA administration describes with the most eloquent way the fiasco: "It was the first time that our troops have been in direct contact with terrorists. Divided into two sections, they marched with a plan to form a circle. While it seemed that the circle around the terrorists fatally narrowed, the operation evolved suddenly and unexpectedly in a bloody tragedy. Our units, coming from different directions, were misguided by fire of the terrorists, who were in the middle. Through the fog that prevailed, they clashed between them ... We lost the chance of an outright victory, would mean the end of terrorism. "

Jarmen Kell, in a letter, he described the battle: "My violin (my gun) will never fall into the hands of the infidels, as long as I am alive. Now I write to you, I have it on my knees and I'm proud of it because I played something beautiful. I set up a great game that will be remembered as long as ECA army exists. I put two battalions to kill each other and corpses filled the ravine and I left through their eyes, rolling, the way you know. But I cannot rest because wherever I go, am chased by betrayal. "

However, despite the ECA "civil" conflict, the danger had not passed for GLA fighters. Sulaymaan with three fighters were persecuted by ECA patrol which had hunting dogs. The rebels were covered in dense foliage by hand on the trigger. Sometime ECA soldiers were found a few meters from the leader of GLA, but did not realize it. Shortly after 17:00 the British abandoned the chase because of darkness. The darkness however from an ally became the enemy of the rebels, who risked crashing off the cliffs. They walked carefully, almost all night; hand in hand. Shortly before dawn, Sulaymaan and all three rebels arrived in the next village. There were stationed 150 ECA soldiers who have not realized their presence.

A few days have passed finding the leader of GLA and four rebels hiding in a house of the village, a family of their absolute trust. Late in the evening arrived at home the son of the family who worked in the ECA military base, but also was an informant of the ECA. Sulaymaan and his men departed at midnight to another village. At dawn the village was filled with troops who seek furiously for the terrorists. But the leader of GLA and his men managed to hide in the neighboring hills. The young man had betrayed them and he was going to pay for it. Later he was assassinated by GLA troops. According to Sulaymaan his parents refused to forgive him and consented to his execution. The battle was a triumph for GLA.

A big question remained of how the ECA troops arrived at the first hideout in the caves. Soon it was answered. The position of the rebels was betrayed by another informer. The nemesis came with his execution by militants of the organization. In the pocket of his jacket were found the "pennies" of treason, a check of 1000 euro which he did not have a chance to redeem....

Two years had passed. Jarmen was now the number one wanted by the ECA, who originally bounty him for 2500 euro and then, with enormous amount of 500000 euro, because he blew a lot of ECA choppers and killed hundreds including special trained men. All this time he was fighting and hiding using various disguises.

After information given by a traitor, a company of 60 ECA soldiers surrounded the hideout of Jarmen on the mountains. Jarmen then said to his 4 men "Comrades, we have been betrayed." "Captain, with you in death" whispered all. They did not manage to finish their conversation and the soldiers arrived at the entrance of the hideout. They cried them to surrender but they got no answer. The battle lasted for hours. A thousand bullets were shot and several grenades were thrown out of the cave. Jarmen didn’t miss a shot in his crosshair. 47 were the casualties for the ECA. Jarmen, then ordered his men to leave the hideout and surrender to be saved while he stayed and fought alone. The ECA troops then asked him to come out and surrender his weapon but he had only one answer to give "Come and get it!" Immediately, four soldiers rushed into the cave. Jarmen welcomed them with a barrage of gunfire. The three men retreated terrified, the fourth, a corporal, was killed. Even after a grenade was thrown into the cave the ECA soldiers did not dare to enter. So they asked a rebel prisoner the to enter the cave, to ascertain whether Jarmen was alive and convince him to surrender. He found him wounded by the grenade and preferred to stay with the captain. Jarmen then shouted "Now we are two. Come and get us." And the battle continued until evening. Their effort was to keep the battle until nightfall and taking advantage of the darkness to escape. The ECA soldiers, who realized their purpose, doused the den with gasoline, set on fire and burned Jarmen alive while his comrade, with severe burns, attempts exit and arrested.

The oil incendiary bombs burned everything. Thus, burning like a torch, Jarmen Kell fell, a blob of burnt flesh, shooting to the end! A man was dead... A hero was born!
