And I assume reason other reason is fact that if not given particular GP role, model would be underused and fell into obscurity since there are not
too many occasions when you can use medic second ability. |

The Vulcan will remain in use for smart bombs, neutron bombs and grand slams however, realism be damned. If we cared for that sort of thing, Europe wouldn't even have a strategic bomber, period. I know this doesn't matter because you guys don't care about realism ,but why wouldn't give the Europeans a strategic bomber ,if you guys cared about realism? -------------------- The Devil Brigade Commander/Commander of NATO Forces

Basically, because strategic bombers are huge flying monsters that originated in a different era of warfare where it was considered a viable option to simply drop thousands of tons worth of high-explosives and incendiaries on civilian population centres. These bombers weren't really designed to engage enemy forces on a battlefield; they were designed to directly target and destroy the opposition's ability to wage war by annihilating their production facilities and eroding their morale through terror. The fact that we wanted to have these Vulcan bombers, as well as land mines, cluster bombs and even neutron bombs and nerve gas as thematic weapons of the European faction is also part of the reason why we did that whole thing in the story where the ECA is -not- merely a natural evolution of the EU; because resorting to that level of cruel pragmatism in warfare would require a tenacious, war-like mindset that is rather absent on current day Europe, which would have made for a very bland and boring faction.

Current day EU. Oh, they can't even get their 5.56mm magazines to be interchangeable - SG552, F-series FAMAS, G36, L85A2 - none of their magazines can be rammed into another country's gun in the field.
Though... I suppose the Vulcans can have some cosmetic changes like extra canards or extended bodies. -------------------- And then...

Challenge for a fan concept: What would the in-universe EU have been like as a faction, either during the GWOT period or in an alternate timeline where it somehow managed to prevent the reboot, by whatever means.
