DirectX Error, I need help with this problem. |

So here is the problem:
1. I clicked on the ShockWave launcher. 2. I clicked on Launch. 3. The game loads. 4. After it is done the DirectX Error showed up it closed the game. 5. I read it and it said: "Please make sure you have DirectX 8.1 or higher installed. Also verify that your video card meets the minimum requirements." 6. I installed the higher DirectX version. 7. I clicked the two buttons again. 8. Same error shows up. Now how to verify the video card? Can anyone help me with this problem? --------------------   |

Thats a random error that pops up recently. Just restarting the PC should fix it iirc.

It's not really that random, it happens when your DirectX crashes, because of an overload, maybe a virus (just maybe), or any other reason. It used to happen a lot after I exit a resource-intensive game like BF2.

i wished that worked for mine ive had this problem for months now evr since star wars empire at war was installed then i tried taking it off and generals still doesnt work >.< same error too and when i try to install new directX it just says u alrdy have latest directX ty then u close it

ive alrdy done that twice this year im not lookin to do a third time considering i dont have anyway to backup files i want to keep. last 2 times i was transfering files to my friends comp using a 2gb flash drive to backup files and that took a long time >.<
