SWR Productions Forum _ The Box _ "Force Awakens",what you thought about it people ?

Posted by: re_simeone 17 Dec 2015, 4:14

Just came from theater.
My friends and I really loved it,I am quite new fan of Star Wars,
so no nostalgic feels,no bias.I don't want to say nothing more for now,
probably later,I rather want to hear other people's experiences...
What you old fans thought about it ? Are there any new ones that watched it too ?

As a die hard old fan of star wars, i can say that quality wise the movie was amazing. Loved the effects, the sounds, most of the actors. Story wise i just wish it wasnt an almost identical copy of - star wars a new hope - with elements of - star wars the empire strikes back. It was an amazing visual and audio experience but a rather derp-ish intellectual one.

I agree.
Speaking of similarities to New Hope, well you cannot call it "just" similarities,
movie is basically some sort of unconventional remake, but hell, why other remakes,reebots...Whatever...Are not more like it.
They prolly made it like this, not only because it was safest option, but also of new generations watching it for the first time,
for example,
I can take my nephew to theater to see SW for the first time and get SW experience without having to watch six films first.

I find it enjoyable, but good GOD did they fuck up the First Order. First of all, what's up with the name? "First" Order? Wasn't that the Empire? And that General Hux is trying WAY too hard to be intimidating. Shouting like a madman, which he probably is, and then not looking a day above 30. Not fit choice for their supposed second or third-in-command. And then they severly underused Captain Phasma, who was even advertised in the very front of the poster like she was going to be a major character when all she amounted to was basically acting menacing and giving our heroes a way to deactivate Starkiller Base's shields. She just so happened to be strolling along, all alone and ready to be captured. Such a waste of character. Me hopes she gets more development in Episode 8. But other than that - solid movie, not deserving of that 90-something rating on Rotten Tomatoes. Probably like 80-something instead, but still a great movie.

Well First Order seems to be what Rebels was in original trilogy,
albeit they became real powerful through those thirty years.
I like how they made them really menacing this time, sure that was
intention since New Hope, but they really did it right now.
I agree on Captain Phasma,I was really anticipating to hear her story,
it left me waiting...I sure hope she survived.
