As is the tradition with this game, two men enter Dust Devil, one picks GLA, and the other loses by default.
Well, to that notion, I say NOT TODAY! Enjoy some heavy late game spam from both sides, and an incredibly impressive horde of buggies from my good friend Marakar as he tries to break down my forced defensive Russia on a map that isnt all that friendly towards Russian players. We also get to see some heavy use of Arena towers, which save me more times than I can count in that game, some GLA recyclers, and some very filthy hind spam in the VLate stage. Enjoy ==Spoilers== Well, if it wasnt obvious I won but only by the miracle of Goliath. This game was long and brutal standoff that i had to very meticulously pull apart. That said, Marakar put up a hell of a fight, and it was honestly a lack of hijackers and Tremor-cycler spam that lost him that game. Everything else was really intense and well done. As for me, watch me make a boatload of mistakes in just flat out not microing shit that i should have been, and letting all my trusty units get rekt. Also, if you're wondering why i retreated when i first started attacking his left expand, i had just hit rank 3 and selected Backfires rank 1 and repair. I used the wrong gp on my army, and basically had to back off for threat of some very heavy friendly fire

Well played Rik, I do agree with using hijackers, I kinda just overestimated power of Tesla tanks and just realized i had buggies to snipe Tesla tanks
Marauders would've also worked out really well especially in LGame, since i also had the russia salvage to upgrade the armor to help fight off the sentinels a bit better (Rik suggested it after the game was done) Also, Hind spam -------------------- Drop Commander |

Judging based on what Rik wrote about the game, you probably grabbed T2 tech, in which case you had the ultimate anti-goliath AA in the game. SA3 Urals don't care about it, you have to have a lot of them though but I bet they still deny russian helicopters even after they got nerfed a bit. Just a tip for next time.

QUOTE I used the wrong gp on my army, and basically had to back off for threat of some very heavy friendly fire Would have been nice if the attack had hit. Loved the game, thumbs up to both players. -------------------- |

There's something I'd like to call attention to. It seems in this replay that there were some occasions that Urals did not fire even when they seemed to be in range. Mizo seems to have mentioned the same thing here: http://forums.swr-productions.com/index.php?showtopic=10539
Mizo said in that thread: QUOTE - GLA can't do crap against harriers not even with Urals. I kept sniping Xattus's stuff then poping chaffs at the right moment and yeah it's kind of abusable in way ( still needs alot of micro to pull off). However, is that really the case, or were they just not firing even when they should have been? In my experience, Urals are pretty devastating to pretty much any aircraft, the way T2 AA should be. Their range is long enough that Harrier chaff, while useful, often doesn't last long enough until the Ural fires another missile. So yeah, it's an important issue because if Urals aren't firing in some instances when they should be, it could be a game-changing problem. In this game, Marakar could have done with building a few (or a few dozen) more Urals - he had the money for it. But still, sometimes it seemed like the Urals that he did have weren't shooting. |

yeah Ural's behavior has been weird lately, but what I said still stand true in that post. Harrier chaffs also deflect Ural missiles..

Actually, my worry is more that the GLA will be buffed even more and get even more anti-air that they don't need, since the anti-air they already have is quite sufficient, provided all of it works properly. |

There's no intention on that whatsoever.
