Since the base game belongs to EA, all rights are still reserved to them. It is internationnally illegal to get paid to exploit its content for money.
One of the conditions to be able to mod it is to do it for free. We don't want ANY annoyment with EA's lawyers, so nobody with 2 working braincells will accept a single cent to do a mod. -------------------- My Soundcloud profile: right here |

Actually, Donation payments for someones work through indirect means and/or gift cards is completely legal.

Only if there is no employer-employee relationship, which there would be in this case. Declaring freelance work payments as donations is tax fraud in many countries, and by extension, means it's a breach of the Terms and Conditions.

I want what rikerzzz said, i dont want an employee employer relationship, ill just hit what should be there 😉, and the modderbgoes from there, donation only for time not modd and pretty sure ea is not gone send gustapo do anyones house over giftcards,donations for freelance.
Also called ea left a message told them i wanted to pay them to be able to pay someone will see it that works.. |

Paying someone to mod ZH imo is not illegal, because your paying for the modders time and skills, and not the assets of the game itself. Furthermore, the mod itself is only for private use, and is not being sold for profit. I wanted to say this in the previous thread, but it got locked so I'm posting it here. Paying someone to mod is no different from art commissions, or simply paying your buddy for a little work. It will only ever become a problem if someone decides to modify and then sell any of the EA assets which is not the case. There shouldn't be any annoyance from EA, and I think all of the concerns raised so far is that of paranoia. Just chill out guys, you're making things bigger than it needs to be. Not saying what you devs do is cheap, I respect you. It does require a lot of patience to design something like ROTR. Keep up the good work btw. The last time i checked, your requests were mostly about giving extra weapons to stuff. I do that quite often. Maybe i can help with that +as of now, you can only allocate a maximum of 3 types of weapons to a unit. So the apache idea isn't really gonna work out. THANK YOU ZEKE!!!and jet, i only figured out how to change simple things like amount of payload, thats easy just change the number lol. As coding new weapons i tried giving the the sokul ant air missles and failed at that pretty sure if i sat there all day long and just messed with it i might figure something out but i rather donate to someone with more skills than me at this and anyhow i dont have all day to do that (work,wife,kid)so a donation is the way to go for me.....again thank you eveyone for your feedback. Also inwould like to publicly apoligize to rikerzzz , it was my biddys bday n i had just a lil bit too much to drink i know its not an excuse for my actions but an explanations, soni am sorry hope my apoligie is accepted.
