I've noticed when I open threads the replies are branched at the bottom and you have a click a reply to open it. Is this a new feature? I'd rather see all the replies honestly than click on a single reply to view

What you're describing sounds like a forum viewing option. I.e. instead of the standard "list format" where all posts are open and in order of first post, you are seeing a different viewing style.
I believe it is a setting but I can't seem to find the option right now either. -------------------- |

It's not in settings, it's actually on the top left of the forums right under new topic, in options there should be a gray background DISPLAY MODES followed by 3 options, you should pick standard.
EDIT:It's also only visible if your in a topic. I'll post pictures soon. Picture guide  Click the red circle  Under the red circle are two options, the one pointed out with the green checkmark is GOOD the other two, crossed out ones are BAD.
