Greetings Ladies and Gentlemen!

Today we'd like to reveal something that is entirely new for most of you. First introduced for 1.802, this multiplayer only competetive game mode took a slightly different approach to how the battles are fought.
Instead of building a base, most of the structures are already present on the map right at the start. The players have limited cash at their disposal however they are rewarded for each enemy unit they destroy, regardless of their faction. In addition to their own forces, each team is supported by constant waves of AI controlled units that charge through the battlefield and attack any hostile in their path. Each of these groups consist of basic tanks as well as special units that excel at destroying air targets or providing long range support. Now the game mode will make it's official return in 1.85 with almost all of the new content and a few unique units and buildings specifically designed for these type of battles!

The Militia Jeep is a light and fast vehicle suited for recon purposes. It will be most seen patrolling around the player's home base. It's long line of sight and stealth detection capabilities reveal approaching enemies quick enough to allow reaction time for other deployed forces. Destroyed jeeps are replaced by new ones after a brief delay, making them very threatening for those planning on infiltration and sneaky flank attacks.

The Celebrus Turret is often seen in a strategic position near a base, where a row of these defense positions wait for any intruder foolish enough to get too close for comfort. Build on a sturdy steel-concrete base, the Celebrus sports a single 150mm laser-guided AT cannon with enough fire power to pierce a hole in any foe its target systems take hold of. It's HE shells are a nightmare for any foot soldier while the rear mounted six vertical missile-tubes take care of any aerial foe approaching its position in quick order. Last but not least, the Celebrus also has a sophisticated radar system that detects cloaked enemies over a moderate area, making life for any stealth units entirely miserable.

Lastly, have a look at this week's stream promotional video:

See you all on Sunday!

Looks interesting 8llaniflip.gif

Will the new units have their own voiceovers? (Apologies if it's a silly question)

What were those opposing tanks at the beginning? The ones with the double barrels and MG mounts?

There will be more updates on this.

And if anybody has problem imagining what this is, you can say its a MOBA-like map.

You mean this
it's from Zeke's dead old called Generation X the link will take to the render of the unit. XAttus most likely asked for the model which when Zeke puled the plug on it he said if you what any model or anything from the model you just have to ask you it's mostly likely they will give it to you.

Actually as you can see in that GenX render the model was made by IPS for an old and dead mod. IPS was just cool and shared that model with GenX as well and Zeke made a few small edits like those legs. And since IPS is part of the SWR team, the rest is self-explanatory.

I didn't see that it was made by IPS. Then that might explain I thought I seen this model one more than one mod.

FYI, in WorldBuilder it's called the militia tank and was in RotR before this, if anyone wondered.

I see that jeep looks familiar. Does it happen to come from N.O.R.A.D of Wargames: Zero Hour?

Congrats on the update though XAttus. I have been looking forward to this for a long time now.

Presidente Island, yeah, I was kinda disappointed they weren't hijackable though, nothing that can't be fixed with WB powers.

Also to be fair, I never really used vanilla WB.

I know this worked in vanilla zero hour but you could force-fire a neutron warhead on any neutral/civilian vehicle and capture it; cars to the militia tanks to any vehicle in the game that wasn't yours or was yours. Thought this difficult with the current neutron weapons ,but you could try it on the Trojan tanks (the heavy tank that acted like a Manticore in the beginning) if they still have the same armor they had in GenX (Overlord thickness)

Alright, to make things clear:

I didn't make the models, those are the work of the people (mainly The_Hunter) whose names you can see on the lower corners of the renders. I made the game mode that is basically a set of specially designed and coded maps. The rest of this little story, apart from the info I shared at the top shall stay secret until sunday. tongue.gif

Wow that's pretty cool!
I already played the "old" version and it was a lot of fun, because the games were usually pretty long, I finally had time to use the Pandora smile.gif.
What is going to be challenging is to balance all the factions in this game mode, because they are not all made for fighting against those militia units.

This reminds me on Dota2- the Celebrus Turret as "Tower" and the tanks as those little bots attacking each other

Indeed, the towers and the minions that inspired me but the gameplay is not exactly similar to that of MOBA games. You still control armies of units instead of a single powerful character and you don't just die, respawn and try again.. usually the game ends when one side manages to break into the base of it's opponents for the first time.

Or when both sides lose all their production buildings and both sides start spamming Command Centers. biggrin.gif
