Explosion is actually less effective vs some tough buildings. Becoming effective vs infantry is still a better choice than more damage and range vs everything else.
It's a damn 152mm cannon after all. HE rounds make perfect senses. This post has been edited by X1Destroy: 2 Jan 2017, 12:34 -------------------- We Die Standing.

It's a damn 152mm cannon after all. HE rounds make perfect senses. This would overlap with Mortars role (especialy with canister Upgraded ones) , which is not a good idea IMO. Against Russia - what I feel lacking in ECA is a good direct anti tank threat early game - apart from Air. 1. We have to rely on fragile panzerfaust troopers T0 or 2. Rush to gun turrets / Tigers which are T1 Shmell troppers are accesible early and decimate PzF inf. (garissones even better) Tigers are easly countered by or Igla troopers/ T0 armoured AA assets whic also helps to deal with infantry. And all off those are not cheap. As the game goes nor Leoperds can trade costeffectivly nor do Jagdmammoth's. Pandurs are a huge investment and are also T1. Leopard in Vehicle digout ist still ineffective/ pathetic. As it goes for me (noob) I would love to have leopards to be a fragile mobile AT en masse - f.ex by ading range and or damage (but it wouldnt fit the faction backround). |

QUOTE This would overlap with Mortars role (especialy with canister Upgraded ones) , which is not a good idea IMO. We were talking about Golem's gun, not ECA weapons. BTW, I would wish for one thing. Gun turret firing through each other. (Obviously will remain a dream forever.) Or Jagdmamut in vehicle digout. Because let's face it, it always die before it can return its investment unless you have more than one. 30 seconds wasted on building it could have been spent on 2 gepards for extra AI/AA. As for grenadier open topped fort, they can't be rebuilt quickly if destroyed. If the barrack nearby is gone, it's useless. Not that it is weak. It's powerful. Problem is everything just requires too much attention and babysitting, which become a big issue in big battles. You don't see that happening with US defenses. You can defend your base with artillery, air and hordes of your own as China. You're invisible as GLA. Russia? Hahaha, why bother using defenses anyway? Jagdmamut in vehicle digout. Because let's face it, it always die before it can return its investment unless you have more than one. 30 seconds wasted on building it could have been spent on 2 gepards for extra AI/AA. jags are crappy due to the turn rate and haveing to turn the entire vehicle to fire which generaly results in them getting wrecked before they can get a shot off, as well as the snipeing ability's of the other factions. personally id love for jags to have a turret rather than fixed guns Problem is everything just requires too much attention and babysitting, which become a big issue in big battles. yup, that and the amount of build space required for defenses to have decent enough firepower in 1 area to deal with large unit blobs that are artillery resistant This post has been edited by Skitt: 2 Jan 2017, 19:07 -------------------- |

Apparently it goes like this: USA: Air power/Superior Tech Russia: Tank forces/mass infantry China: Mass infantry/Tank forces ECA: Defensive units/Special forces. GLA: Scavengers/Ambush Those aren't entirely accurate. What they're supposed to be more like is this: USA: Jack of all trades master of none. Only the airforce Gen is supposed to have a "superior' airforce. Russia: Brute force with, as you say mass infantry and heavy tanks, China: Spam + Heavy support units ECA: Defensive units and structures with heavy arty to act as your force multiplier. GLA: Stealth, speed and sneaky -------------------- Many thanks to IvanMRM for my avatar and Star for drawing my epic signature. You guys rock! GLA: Stealth, speed and sneaky Hm. I was always thinking like: USA: Elite unit specialist (jack-of-all-trades as they have something for everything) Russia: Generalist powerhouse ("super mario") China: Spammer powerhouse ECA: Lethal joke faction GLA: Subversive |

I always see it like this:
Russia: Powerhouse with high quality units and a weakness in mobility. China: Powerhouse with cheaper and less armored units that prioritize in quickly gathering in large numbers to destroy the enemy with high alpha damage rather than winning through endurance. Doesn't have a real weakness beside survivability. USA: Mobile attacker with high quality units that prioritize survivability and accuracy. Can do almost everything but won't be able to outmatch anyone else in one thing at a time. GLA: Invisible mobile attacker with cheap unarmored one time use units. Master of tricks and deceptions. Can still be played via spamming, but not for long. ECA: A unique concept but isn't a really good idea in execution. Have too many weaknesses in comparison to its strong points. One of it is requiring too much attention to just about every little things. A small crack in the puzzle and everything can collapse before one know it. However, if said puzzle stand still till the end it become more of a mop up rather than a battle for ECA. Because the enemy are probably too exhausted to even put up another real fight against ECA units after all those long tedious sieges against its defenses.
