they thought they had a better chance of the files surviving in the mirage
and after they made a break for it and the mirage cleaned the way id say it was a nice bet at that, also note that the russians made a suicide run at the poor bastard lighter vehicles would have a better chance of escape due to speed but the enemy had aircraft and could easily take them out, and the ECA had no airforce of their own to make the plans escape via air also i wouldnt place the plans on a single person in a break due to risk of sniper fire the point is that the mirage was the strongest thing in the ECA evac column and had the best chance of survival, but was taken out by a kamikaze strike |

personally i hate that plot - if they made the tank how they can lose the blueprints? A better reason would be unfeasibility of production, general incompleteness - i.e it was just a rushed prototype and its produciton variant is over-the-horizon far from being ready. Yh, like, it was an unstable prototype, so it went back to the drawing board. |

So I tuned some specs of the weapon to make it suit the "melta" style Xiedongli had in mind. It's totally ridiculous as a hit-and-run vehicle now, but smug as hell for a Supply Depot terrorizer or heavy buster.

It was there in Zeke's file. I think it's a line about receiving, not giving bonus? It's part of the Wotan weapon code, since I basically just copied/renamed it, afaik it's there to cancel out the ROF bonus it gets from veterancy and from laser designators, probably the keep the fx and sound loop from breaking. -------------------- |

Yep, because often I read that the Wotan deals the most damage as AA. But when it can't level up, then this is a huge disadvantage compared to the others.

That still means that a heroic Wotan array does have less firepower then an other heroic tier 2 AA with the ROF Bonus.
Health is rather unimportant for a unit like the Wotan, because it does get killed by nearly anything anyway. Important is the damage it can do to planes before they drop their payload imo. And when this was not intended, it seems like the Wotan is a rather bad choice compared to the Skyshield and the Gepard. And worse compared to other tier 2 AA units. -------------------- |

The thing does do an incredible amount of damage at Heroic though. If it gained the RoF bonus, it would outclass other T2 AAs at heroic.

Well, yeah, but what's the fun in that? I wanna see a Prism Mirage Tank... I want to say that Zeke's dead mod Generation X had a Prism Tank that looked like the RA2 Prism Tank ,but I don't know. Well, I think you can make the shot hit an area and spread outwards from it in several projectiles, kind of like cluster bombs but with lasers instead. Even more amusingly, you could make this behavior depend upon the cluster munitions upgrade. |
