Serious error can be caused by many things incluiding viruses, overheated hardware and hardware that does not meet the minimum specifications of the game. I hope that I can help. Sorry for my bad English, I'm Spanish. tongue.gif

Did you experience the same problem playing Zero Hour (before installing ROTR)?

Have you follow instructions from the installation guide?

Not prove the Zero Hour, I went direct to the ROTR. If you install first C&C G and update 1.08, then the C&C ZH and the update 1.04, and then the ROTR:
ROTR ECA Beta 1.8, Patch 1.801 Release, ROTR Patch 1.802 Release, SWR.net Update 1.0.0.1, and finally ROTR Version 1.85. When took a while playing jump me that error. What can I do?

Use QUICKSTART to launch the game if you're on 1.86v6.

The correct order would be:
C&C G > update 1.08 > C&C ZH > update 1.04 > NoCD Patch > ROTR Beta 1.85 > ROTR Beta 1.86v6

You should make sure you can play zero hour by running general.exe first before using ROTR Launcher.

To Ace Master:

My generals: Zero Hour and Rise of The Reds both can be open and play. But suffers with the pre-released version 6.

Furthermore, my generals game is an "Origin" version. Is there any difference with the solution ???

Sorry for I still don't get it much............ sad.gif

Yes Foxy. Here're a few things to watch out in the Origin one:
1. Disable Origin in Game (right click the game > Properties )
2. Use a special fixed launcher to replace Origin's one. (The launching sequence then become: ROTR Launcher > choose QUICKSTART > Launch (which load the Fixed Launcher for Origin)

If things don't go well, read the Manual Install Guide and skip ROTR Launcher & SWR.net

If you read the install guide, you know you'll need to install/put ROTR files under Zero Hour directory.

the default for Origin Zero Hour Directory is:
C:\Program Files\Origin Games\Command and Conquer Generals Zero Hour\Command and Conquer Generals Zero Hour\

You should see file similar to this "!ROTR_XXXX.gib" in the directory when installed properly.

To Ace Master:

I can open the game now. Although the main menu has change to a Hind and Hunchback gunship and without those animation. Is it the right version ???

I think I will try to play it tomorrow to see if it is ok or not because it's mid-night on my area.

Thanks for your help Ace. (I'm confident everything will be fine)

Good job Foxy. Yup, because that "QUICKSTART" option disable the shellmap (animation) which might cause crash for some players.

Hi there! I just like to know if The Rise of Reds is for skirmish only? I mean, is there a solo play were you can play as us, china etc? After I patched C&C General to 1.04, I immediately install rise of reds 1.85 and i am planning to patch the latest 1.86. But again, I would like to play the solo play and the challenge. Any idea sir?

General-challenge and campaign in 1.86 are disabled because they can't be properly played with ROTR. So, for now it is only for skirmish and multiplayer. However, there will be campaign for Russia and Europe in 2.0 (or maybe in 2.1 as devs said once) and also a game-mode like challenges from ZH.
Also you can download some fan-made campaigns in form of skirmish-based missions from ModDB in "addons" section. And of course you should know that ROTR doesn't change any of the original game files, so you can always play ZH with its challenges and campaigns.

thanks for your all immediate reply Hecthor and Nik! Yes! I can play ZH without any problem. ALthough this RotR is the best! However, sometimes game has an error. With or without the patch of 1.86. Anyway, I will keep on monitoring if there will be any updates! More power to all of you guys! wink.gif

I have Gen/ZH Deluxe Edition. Do I need to install C&C G update 1.08 and/or the C&C ZH update 1.04? Not sure if the Deluxe Edition comes updated or not. If I do need to update, where can I get the updates from?
