If someone could help me with this, I would appreciate it. What does "Virus" do in this mod?

My friends and I can't figure this out. I'm talking about the red cloud of toxic stuff that turns units red. From what I can tell it does....nothing. I dunno, I don't play Dr. Thrax that much; usually I stick with Deathstrike or Ironside, but I can't figure out the benefit of dropping virus bombs on the enemy. Units don't take damage from what I can tell, it doesn't weaken structures, it just....turns units red. What am I missing?

And if there is an advantage to using Virus, could someone enlighten me to the situations where it's good to use?

Thanks in advance ~

I've been curious about this too - the tooltip could be more detailed...
I've always assumed it cuts the units rate of fire or damage :S

It'd be good if the tooltip said something like that.

I used to be, but not anymore tongue.gif .

Viruses can be pretty useful though. The upgrade is arguably somewhat overpriced and utterly useless on the Scourge, it can give a nice boost to Thrax's toxin tractors - the effects basically cripple any unit caught in it. Of course the remedy is too easy for words - just move a bit - but still viruses have their uses. The virus crop duster ability is probably the most useless strike power in the game.

I remember that there was a huge masturbration following for the stealth gen a few years back in E-studios/fallout studios.

Actually, stealth general is one of the more (over)powered generals with the (not really) artillery range Quad Cannons and elite Rocket Buggies off the bat. Cobras are way way way better than Scorpions too.

About the virus, technically it would be good to force the opponent to have to move away from it, however the methods of delivery are way too tedious. Toxin Tractors will get slaughtered by a late game army, and its better to just stick to the toxin warheads in the Scourge.
