As quoted from the wiki:

QUOTE
1) Uninstall all other modifications (create backups at your own discretion) from the Zero Hour folder
2) Uninstall Zero Hour
3) Delete the Zero Hour folder, this step is necessary to prevent the game skipping already present files during the clean installation.
4) Install Zero Hour (The First Decade is already patched to 1.04 for Zero Hour and 1.08 for Generals. If Zero Hour fails to load then resinstall both, taking care to delete the appropriate folders)
6) Download Rise of the Reds 1.0 SWR Edition Beta from any of the locations listed at the official website.
7) Install Rise of the Reds 1.0 SWR Edition Beta, making sure to point the installer at the correct directory.
8) Download Rise of the Reds 1.2 Beta Patch from any of the locations listed at the official website (the 1.1 patch is no longer required as it is integrated into the 1.2 patch for your convenience)
9) Install Rise of the Reds 1.2, making sure to point the installer at the correct directory.

Vist is annoying like that and it will do that whenever your ZH installtion is located within th programfiles folder you have to install it in a different folder like C:\Games\TDF\

i dont quite under stand u mean when i instal tfd i send it to a new folder??? err i should say create a new folder

Posted by: Nidmeister 15 Aug 2009, 14:12

I had the same problem.
You need to copy your TFD folder into a new location (for example, C:\Games\*TFD*) and then install RotR to that folder.
C:\Games probably doesn't exist, so you will have to create that folder yourself if you do this method.

This works with Windows 7 as well as vista.
If anyone has the same problems with Windows 7, then this is your solution.
