What do you guys and gals think of 4X games?
I own Sins, MOO2, the Civ series, Gal civ trilogy, and SotS. Its a good sub-genre. 4X leans towards space I think. -------------------- |

I played Civilization IV religiously back in 2012, all the way up to 2013.
I have no idea why I played it for that long, because now I cannot even make ten turns without quitting. I would say my best experiences in the game were my first couple of games, and my experiences with Rhye's and Fall of Civilization. |

Alpha Centauri and its expansions still hold a place in my heart, and always will.
Civilization 3, 4. And Age of Wonders 3 is a pretty good game. -------------------- |

MoO2, GCiv2. Hell, I killed a monitor just by playing MoO2 day'n'night - it couldn't bear the darkness theme of said game. Although I have no time for them these days, because their biggest issue is that you have to play days for a single game.

On average, if I'm playing a civ game seriously then it takes 6+ hours to complete. |

I'v tried a few games like this but i always feel like i'm playing a virtual table top wargame campaign.
Just as with card games i'd rather play a physical game like that than a virtual one (plus with beer and some good friends its just alot more fun) -------------------- |
