Frets on Fire<- this is a link. Vanilla Frets on Fire I'm sure a fair few of you have heard of it or played it. I've been playing for a while now, and I thought it was time I shared this gem with other people In a nutshell it's Guitar Hero for free, for your PC. You operate using Enter ans Shift as your strumming mechanism, and F1 -F5 as the notes. Fortunately, the key bindings can be altered for any issues you may have with this. It is also possible, with drivers of course, to use the guitars packaged with Rock Band or Guitar Hero with the game. Unfortunately, the base version of the game isnt exactly pretty, it comes with very few songs that aren't exactly fun to play, but on the up side, it has mods. Very pretty mods. One such is called the Alarian mod, which allows the interfact to be skinned with Guitar hero III, rock band, rock band 2, an awesome 8Bit theme, and the Guitar Hero 80s theme I think. Whats more, is that the mod comes as a standalone, meaning that you don't have to install Frets on Fire first. You can find the Alarian mod here. Alarian mod ( Guitar Hero skin) Of course, the Alarian mod comes with no songs. But don't think they didn't think that through, they have a whole database of songs that have been tabbed for you to download right here. (You can find songs that have been copied from Rock band and Guitar Hero under the "Packs" section) Knock yourselves out. Ah, good times.
I notice that all the Rock Band and Guiter Hero DLC is on torrent for this now... Man, this game has come a long way. You forgot to mention it supports drums now ;D Looking at how far this game really has come, you'd think it'd be smart if Harmonix just put Rock Band on the PC.
