Greetings,

I have recently come to acknowledge & experience the amazing work of the SWR Productions team. It feels great to know that people like them exist even today to deliver quality entertainment for us at free of cost. Thank you for the time you people spend & patience in order to keep us overwhelmed with joy.

The purpose of this message is that, I have a request from the SWR Team. I took a lot of time to think whether I should write this or not. But the thing is that, if anyone can do it with utter perfection & finesse, it’s the SWR productions.

For a long time I have waited to see whether anyone out there would mod two of my favorite games- “Commandos- Men of Courage” & “Commandos- Destination Berlin”. Although some people developed a mod for the “Men of Courage” named “Destination Paris”, the overall story experience was not up to the mark & the game-play balance was screwed.

With that being said, I would love to see an overhaul to the good ol’ RTS Commandos done by the SWR Team. Not only I believe, I know for sure that they can turn it into a modern masterpiece.

If the members here think that my idea is eligible for taking into consideration, please share your thoughts.

Lastly, a feedback from the SWR team would be very much appreciated. If you guys think my idea is worth your time, I can elaborate the details.

Thank you all.

Ah yes, Commandos. Excellent games, especially the first, its expansion and Men of Courage. It's sad that there aren't any games like that nowadays. The team and I also appreciate your compliments for ROTR. However, the chances of us making a mod for Commandos are pretty much non-existent. For one, we are only properly familiar with ZH and the SAGE engine. The Commandos games ran on an entirely different engine. We don't know how it works, we don't even know whether it would be suitable for in-depth modifications and working our way into it would take ages, not to mention that it would still require a premise, a goal, a plan, a concept. Plus, we cannot 'force' ourselves to work ourselves into a project like that unless it comes from our own genuine inspiration. Making mods and games is a creative exercise that requires passion, patience and dedications - the only way to muster these motivational forces for a project is when you truly -feel- that you want to make it. Finally, our current long-term plan after the completion of ROTR is not to mod another game, but to make a game of our own.

Thanks a lot for the feedback. I understand the weight of your burden, your moral responsibility towards SWR community. After all, the circumstances under which our life is bound does not allow every one of us to bring our every choices to fruition; and besides, there are inevitable limitations that cannot be overcome or avoided.

Anyways, all the best for ROTR. Say, those story pieces on MODDB are spectacular. Beautiful narrative indeed; makes genuine readers wonder what happens thereafter. Waiting for the release, patiently, with much anticipation.

Any plans for graphical enhancement ?
