ive asking why Russia doesnt have a Tank General because they have the best tanks of the game black bear sentinels golems
and why USA have a tank general when they should build an T1 to build tanks?

Posted by: Mizo 2 Feb 2018, 9:14

Because USA's tank general won't work in the same way as Russia does. They can have an airfield early, and get widowmakers or whatever out, so they do have a much better air support than Russia.

USA high tech and Russia Tank are so overdone. So there is USA tanks and Russia high tech. To change a bit wink.gif

Reason why USA gets a Tank General:
- They were planned to have one in the Alpha version of Generals and the ROTR generals of the US, China and GLA are based on that.
- The US are a generalist faction that can play a variety of styles, so it makes sense for its subfactions to specialise in certain categories of units, such as aircraft, tanks and infantry (special forces)

Reason why Russia doesn't get a Tank General:
- Russia is already the most tanky faction in general so making one of their generals even more about tanks would be very one note and boring. What would they have, redundant T-72B3s, T-80BVM and T-90M at T0, the whole Armata family at T1 and three Sentinel-sized heavies at T2?
- The existing Russian generals are a lot more interesting: Orlov has more versatile infantry, mobile vehicles and helicopters, Zhukov has artillery in all shapes and sizes and Aleksandr gets high-tech assault units, which already makes him a lot like a Tank General, except not as one-note.

Ho Zhukov I can't waith to see what kind of toys that guy will have in 2.0 (I think the buratino is one of his toys right?) I hope it's something like the 2S7 Pion or the BM-30 Smerch. Maybe even a unique AA unit like the Pantsir-S1, considering how fews faction have a unique AA unit.

Anyway... I'm kinda worry of the devs "silence" lately (maybe it's just the dev team taking a long and deserved rest).

Buratino is for Orlov and Zhukov; Aleksandr gets Tesla Tank instead. And things are being worked on, just slowly and with little to publicly announce.

Regarding what Zhukov gets, here is what is publicly known: Topols and ICBM, Tor M1 replacing Grumble, and backfire strike. Other stuff is obviously to be expected, but nothing has been revealed yet
