Last I checked, Cattman had a Royal Enfield. Ah yes, you're right - I found the thread after a quick search on Fallout Studios. No pics, though, but from the description its power is similar to my own 125 with a top speed of 60-70 MPH (although I imagine it only reaches 70 when going down a steep road ). I prefer sports bikes, but can appreciate why people like the classics. Vintage models are the aesthetic equivalent of wine. -------------------- |

Sportbikes...pfft!
Nothing has the elegance and charm of a Vespa. Take the girl of your dreams for a slow ride on the country side. Lift the seat and pull out the picnic. The Vespa is just magic. -------------------- |

Vespas are like cologne, sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't.
When I have the finances for it I will probably buy myself a bike, I'll probably get my learners before then though. This post has been edited by Alias: 3 Aug 2009, 16:46 -------------------- |

Sportbikes...pfft! Nothing has the elegance and charm of a Vespa. Take the girl of your dreams for a slow ride on the country side. Lift the seat and pull out the picnic. The Vespa is just magic. Vespa riders, like Scooter riders, don't wear protective gear or gloves. If you come off a Vespa or Scooter at even a moderate speed you won't have any hands left and your girl's body and your own will look like they were run through a cheese grater. You should always be prepared for a crash. Sorry for ruining your idyll, but I find the mentality of Scooter/Vespa riders mind boggling. Now I must ask the question: If you had the choice between two bikes, which would you rather show up to your girl's door on? This? Or this? It probably goes without saying, but I'd take the vroom-vroom machine over the leaf blower. @ Alias, the reality of learning to ride a motorcycle is that you will crash at least once, and it is that crash that will make or break your enthusiasm for bikes in general. Learn to ride with a qualified instructor so you won't pick up any bad habits as you would while learning to ride on your own. Also, avoid the "advice" of the idiots on YouTube because it is inevitable that when you do go to buy a bike you will be watching lots of videos about them. -------------------- |

Yeah, I quite know the truths of motorcycles as I witnessed one of my mates having a pretty bad crash (he wasn't hurt as he wore leathers, infact neither was his bike, the car the hit him got written off though!), however for personal transportation with the exception of things such as shopping, in these financial times a bike is far more cost effective than a car, not to mention the more bikes that get on the road the safer it gets for riders. Before you can get your motorcycle learners over here you have to go through several days of intense training in a remote location, so it's pretty well organised.-------------------- |
