Im not religious but as soon as i find a religion worth making sense ill take it into consideration , but ive read some of the bible and as far as i know in my place people always add stuff to the bible that isnt even there Like "GOD made white people to date white people" or they use them in political Debuts to earn a advantage and the sad thing is People believe them ( Referring to Christianity) im not a religion baser at all but people use them for even trival matters just to swing matters around look at your history books "Church > King" back then

im really pissed a girl had to die because of there lack of knowledge on there own religion, Pathetic...

My father's a physician and he once had to deal with some people who were from the same Pentecostal sect as these people. They believe in "faith healing" and don't let their members go to doctors or take certain medicines.

And about religion...though man has used religion to justify vile acts, it's more a condemnation of man than religion in general. Also, note that the most destructive ideologies in history, Communism and Nazism, denied the existence of any supreme being.

National Socialism was almost a religion in itself in the end. It is no wonder Adolf even got some 'Amen' after he ended some of his speeches. Religion on itself it not a bad thing, it is what people make out of it - see, this case here.

Isn't that what Scientologists believe?

Well I have a similar non-religious belief to this. I never take painkillers or pills because I don't believe I need them. I think it weakens my immune system. If I build up a natural tolerance, I feel it betters my chances of avoiding it in future.

Well I think that is a good thing, pretty sure some painkillers are addictive. I've never read anything about painkillers weakening your immune system though.

If a man buys a painkiller here in my country, the cashier will look at you funny. Everyone expects you to man up in this situation.

Yeah, I have to agree with Wi-Ta on that note. I myself get some incredibly painful sinus headaches (worse than migraines) which to me are only copeable to me to even rest with a medium dose of codeine.

Well, painkillers have not been shown in ANY medical study to weaken your immune system as pain =/= infections. Now if you were taking antibiotics like it was candy, then we'd have a problem. I sometimes get horrible headaches in the morning where the only thought I could process is that "it hurts" and "I want to go kill somebody, maybe throw a kitty off a building", if it wasn't for painkillers, I'd probably just waste away at home.

I hear one side-effect of taking a shitton of pain killers is that you become a Medical Genius. I8.gif

These peoples mistake was that the were blatantly stupid, and did not have open minds. They did not think for themselves, and they did not put their daughter first. These people are what I call robots, robots to their own twisted vision of religion. I hate how people like them put black and red stains the word religion, by taking advantage of it, misunderstanding it, and other things I can't think of right now.

They've put religion in a bad way... one example of its consequences is Jonestown in Guyana in 1978.
As a Roman Catholic I don't want to bad mouth about this thing, well, we should use it wisely and carefully for us have a good, meaningful, and happy lives and souls...

As a local saying says, "Nasa Diyos ang awa, nasa tao ang gawa (God has the mercy, man has the actions [to do it])"...

QUOTE (Rorschach @ 3 Aug 2009, 3:47) *
Religion didn't kill that poor girl. A couple of morons did.

Don't blame the belief system, blame the stupidity of the individuals.

Shall I blame your stupidity or your belief system or both for not seeing causalities? At times you should sin and nibble from the tree of knowledge. This case is once more an example of how belief is alienating people from their common sense turning them into irrational acting idiots. Religion means self-alienation: someone parts from himself creating an imaginary world and in a notional way - believing to be right - attaching truth to this world. And with God, everything is possible. Sermonize the same falsities again and again leads to a corpus of truths not allowed to be touched. Religion is a mental illness, sometimes a pneumatic hydro therapy aka cold shower to cool down those religious flushings may help. Yes, religion as the source of all this hocus pocus belief killed that child. But classifying positive occurrences as miracles of God and blaming other powers for the negative is common among faithful, isn't it?
