Partisans are dedicated stealth units as far as I can tell. Excellent for scouting and detection.

I was thinking along the lines of a "Special Projects general"
He would Generally (haha I'm sorry) focus on more"Black" and secretive projects. This would most likely focus on less drones and more on Manned but advanced weapons.
The strengths would mainly be focused on infantry survivability and single target destruction. Damage would be focused, but not have a splash on effect.

General Schwarzkopf
Faction: USA
Branch: Special Projects
Tactics: Heavy firepower, good armour and strong infantry based warfare. Armoured vehicle hunting as well.

- A Tomahawk is replaced with an Artillery unit that uses a twin-linked Railgun on an M109 Chassis.
- Late game infantry are power armour infantry replacing special forces.
- Hades Tank (A super Microwave tank that when firing at Vehicles de-garrisons them.)
- Ghost (Replaces Pathfinder, can fire through multiple infantry.)
- Pariah (Wearing a power armoured suit, Pariahs are armed with Railguns designed to destroy enemy vehicles.)

Making more stealthed general is logical, but I dont know how to do that. What sort of "crime" would they be doing? Assassinations? Not that much of a big impact, not wide enough unlike the other three. Bombings? Thats Yusuuf's specialty.

I think three generals for each faction will be enough. I know that imagination may be big but I think new generals must be unique not for that faction. They need to be unique for game at all. So all your suggestions about adding new generals looks like remake of generals from other factions with some new improvements. IMO better idea is to make current generals more specific than others. Lets suggest that we remove any air units from GLA faction and add something total new to each GLA general or add 1 hero that will be not a man. He will be invisible supertank or aircraft for example. Or add new unique GP abilities. Or add 6th star general(another promotion level with another +3 GP) for players who can destroy many enemy units and lose small amount of his units.
That will made game more interesting in making choice for each side to play and which general to select.

The main idea behind this thread is to create fan-made subfactions with playstyles based on the faction in question. Some people's generals have been more serious and actually trying to find gameplay niches not emphasised.

I think Stealth General is a bit overdone, given that his features have been given away to other generals. One idea i had was a "Brotherhood of Mercenaries" (name pending), it would draw elements of forces like Nod, a high-tech secret society that has sided with the GLA. But to be honest its a shit general because it has nothing in common with the GLA apart from playstyle.

GLA and China generals pretty much cover the faction's playstyle. ECA, USA and Russia you have a little room for niches.

The majority of Chinese basic units are those of paramilitary branch Red Guard, even Battlemaster Tank that is used by both RRed Guard and PLA. Even other generals does the same. So the forth general will lean more on the PLA. He has an infantry called Regular that is better than Red Guard, whether he replaces it or he has both Regulars and Red Guards, both are plausible. Than his heavy tank, like Overlord and Shenlong, is in fact an advanced main battle tank, a real competitor to Paladin Tank. He specialized more on a training than just hordes of units. But doesnt mean he doesnt have hordes of units, just that he can lean more on experience and equipment smile.gif

Another idea for GLA general is, what about make him more ranged? Not so much that he will be another artillery general beside Zhukov and Charles. But that he will prefer to stay farer from the enemy than others. maybe even reuse the old Centurion Tank as his tank for ranged attacks... or not biggrin.gif This means that he will have some rockets mounted on vehicles, maybe one more artillery-kind unit (or the missile tank destroyer), and snipers. And, maybe, another air unit that will be firing from afar.

Yeh I remember reading about that General further back, I think its definitely a good design choice.
I guess this sort of inspired my Brotherhood idea. I was thinking along the lines of long range damage and advanced technology. I had that in mind sort given some of the ideas you suggested. The main thing I had against my Brotherhood idea was that it would aesthetically change the faction.

So, if we were to develop a fourth GLA General like this, I would say he is probably better described as a former African Military Dictator or something along those lines. He was overthrown by the ECA during operation Nemesis and he and his troops fled South with the GLA. He has control over the Border that touches the Maghreb Union. He controls the local GLA Warlords and ensures their loyalty. As such, when he attacks MU forces his troops are a mix of GLA Fighters, former African regulars and the Elite Presidential Guard. He also replaces the Interceptors with Frogfoots and has some units that are tougher.

This is an idea I had while discussing with V.Metalic over a fourth GLA General

Col. Bibi Adis
Faction: GLA
Cell: Lions of Africa
Strengths: Long range firepower, glass cannon tactics, later "Presidential Guard" units stronger

Colonel Abis had long been a powerful man in Northern Africa. With ties to the GLA-Puppet Governments of Libya, Senegal, Algeria and Tunisia he had carved out a vast sphere of influence. As the figure known as Mohmar Deathstrike rose in Africa and overthrew many of the corrupt and oppressive African regimes and continued his global War of Liberation against the Western Imperialists. Abis used these uprisings to secure his own state, seizing parts of Niger, Algeria and Mali and declaring his sovereignty over these territories.

Abis cared little for his inhabitants and simply amassed drugs, diamonds and guns in his stronghold, the Preisdential Palace, just outside the town of Tessalit, in Mali. Whilst controlling few subjects, Abis has gathered together an army of former Soldiers, Tribesmen and his elite, the "Presidential Guard". However, as Deathstrike's forces withdrew from Europe and Mohmar himself was killed, danger lurked on the Horizon.

The launch of Operation Nemesis by the European Continental Alliance spelt danger for Abis and his "Empire". His Presidential Palace was devastated by Goshawks and Mole Mines and his troops devastated by the ECA Air Force. Abis and his men, as well as many of the tribes retreated southwards with the majority of the GLA, harassed by Harriers, Goshawks and artillery to Central Africa. Escaping into the forests of Central Africa, Abis erected a small empire of his own on the borders of "The Zone" and the newly crowned Maghreb Union.

His troops attacked ECA forces stationed on the border, however due to the firing grid set up by the ECA for their artillery, heavy casualties were incurred. As casualties mounted and his forces dwindled, Abis decided to enslave the local tribes and militias. Forcing them under his rule he created a new army, where GLA "regulars" provided the main strength and the elite "Presidential Guard" followed through. As he had surplus guns and military equipment looted on their retreat, Abis built his forces around longer range fighting, inspired by the ECA whom he had spent so much time fighting. Modifying his weapons from equipment captured from ECA and Maghreb forces, he designed equipment to counter the ECA's range advantage.

Abis is seen as an outcast in many GLA circles, he conflicts with yusuuf's fundamentalist ideas, Ibrahiim's anarchist tones and Sulaymann's idea of a warrior paradise. He also, since he flight to "The Zone" has begun to embrace some 'Socialist" ideals. Much of civilian hardware stolen by his forces in raids is given to the people and aid packages aimed at civilians go un-molested through his territory. Rapists and Murderers are punished and often, GLA Warriors who stray into his domain are forced out or absorbed into his new 'State within a State'. Rumours now dog the GLA that Sulaymann, fearing Abis' growing power, will move against him. Indeed, more rumours are floating around stating that Abis is dealing with American, Chinese and even European diplomats relating the Zone. Indeed, in what may be closer to the truth, some claim that Abis is dealing with American PMC Red River and Chinese PMC Art of War, as well as the secretive and shadowy Multinational PMC Echelon Solutions. These PMCs offer weapons and equipment in exchange for intelligence, money and even diamonds, as well as some other more dark requests from Echelon.

Whilst Abis, for now, swears allegiance to "The Zone", however time will tell where the man's loyalties truly lie.

Units:

- Presidential Guard (Similar to the Mercenary, however has advanced assault rifles and AT Rifle.

- Centurion (An old Centurion tank or vehicle modeled in its image, has no scorpion rocket but its main cannon packs a punch and has similar range to the ECA Leopard)

More units and buildings to come...

Not a bad start.
I also made my entry to be an African warlord, thought the data on him were different. The name is not important, but the nickname may be applied nonetheless. But the name I based more on the African warlords of real-time that are related to the colonists of old.

There is some things on the bio not fitting, that he is still attacking the enemies from the GLA territory. Because GLA is mostly quiet and not bothers that much itself with the outside world (yet), with only their operations going on. Sulaymaan selling his weapons, Ibrahiim selling his drugs, and Yusuuf probably doing some terrorist acts, but far from the Central Africa. This 4th general may be selling the diamonds to gain money, and be involved with some assassinations across the world rather than directly assaulting.

The in-fighting between him and Sulaymaan can be applied, but not on that level you wrote. Otherwise Sulaymaan would have already got rid of him. While GLA isnt all about friendship, it is not of constant in-fighting either.

For the units, maybe Centurion is little too old, or can have been refitted with salvages that turns it into a sniper tank by some... salvage magic tongue.gif It can also be a Presidential Guard unit, coming with general from his time of presidency.

The infantry sounds fine. May wear military uniforms instead of some clothes.

Frogfoot... well, I think that the bombs have to be dropped, but the many weak rockets can work for him.

Than there is the missile tank destroyer, and a sniper unit.

Yeh, the bio needs work. On the attacking, I think raiding is probably more appropriate but that is all I have to really say on the matter.
The Sulaymaan thing was probably a bit too obvious, however I think there should certainly be some disparities, in that he believes in Order and more to the people, whereas Sulaymaan wants a warrior's paradise, Ibrahiim has a flawed ideology and Yusuuf is fanatical.

On the Centurion, perhaps a salvaged tank like the Centurion. I'm gonna add more units, unless you want to take over. Apart from that it seems fine.

On him selling to Echelon, Red River and Art of War, I want it to be more like the PMCs buy the diamonds for Corporate interests (or in Echelon's case, to fund their ever-growing Private army and pay for new equipment) and they also buy intelligence on the GLA's movements.

Something I noticed is, that the RotR Generals, unless its really important for the general, dont replaces that many of units or have that much of unique stuff. Thought that is based on known units, but Orlov for example replaces all of his infantry except Shmel Trooper with Spetsnaz variants. But Zhukov on the other hand has, by now, only three unique units, which are vehicles and long ranged. MSTA replacement, Tor replacing Grumble, and Topol-M as part of his nuclear arsenal. Ohh, and the Artillery Component Tower. So that many of units being exclusive to this general is not necessarily needed. To list them for now.

Presidential Guard = elite infantry, assault rifle and some sort of morale boost or "frenzy zeal" state
Sharpshooter = long-ranged infantry, anti-infantry, possibly stealthed
Centurion/Chieftain Tank = salvaged tank beside Scorpion (or replacing it), can fire at ranges
Missile tank hunter = salvaged tracked (or maybe even wheeled) vehicle with ATGM that has higher fire range than standard tanks
Frogfoot = bomber with lots of weak rockets, quite durable, available beside Interceptor

Actually, when thinking about it, Frogfoot and any other air unit may not be used, as the Airstrip will be for GLA a GP unlock, which will prohibit the player from using it from the start. But, maybe Frogfoots shall be used as part of his 3-star 3-level GP power that saturates the area with many rockets that has some demoralizing effect. Another possible unit may be some gun artillery, or maybe a defense?

Yeh not too many,
However I'd imagine that there are more units for Zhukov that haven't been revealed yet.

That unit list is looking good so far.
I reckon the Frogfoot should be a support power as you say. A defence, like maybe a (small) artillery piece probably sounds best.

Strengths: Balanced between mobility and heavy armor, cool energy weapons, some units are redundant. Nigh-unbeatable endgame.
Weaknesses: High Costs(sometimes even ridiculous), Ridiculous power dependency.

Little is known about him, other than he is a former subordinate of the now missing General Townes, due to his overspending in the US military. Now, as a former subordinate of the Laser General, he must finish what he has started.

Command Center unchanged. Only it costs 3000.
Fusion Reactor becomes Arc Reactor. It provides 15 power and 30 power with the Second Arc Reactor upgrade(1000.). Costs 1200.
Barracks (no power, costs 800)
-Strike Ranger(400, T0): Now armed with plasma rifles. Kills infantry faster. Can use Plasma Grenades(costs 1200) to clear garrisons.
-Strike Defender(500, T0): Armed with plasma rockets that deal more splash damage.
-Designated Marksman(750, T1): Replaces Pathfinder. Stealthed when not moving or shooting. Uses laser DMR. Fires quite faster than a silenced Pathfinder. Cannot silence.
-Combat Engineer(650, T1): Can deploy weaker turrets in the field and disable enemy vehicles with EMP-based weapons.
-Railgun Team(900, T2): Functions as a Javelin and a Pathfinder at the same time. Uses railgun
-Super Soldier(1250, T2): Has a vast array of weapons. Amphibious.
-Super Burton(2000, T2): Same, except he now uses an upgraded Plasma Rifle, can designate orbital strikes, can lay down bombs at a distance. Amphibious.

War Factory(1 power. 2500)
-Laser Crusader Tank(2 power, 1250, T0): Now has twin laser cannons. Looks like Saber Tank from Star Wars.
-Vanquisher APC(1 power, 900, T0): Now a ten-man APC(acts like Humvee) that regains its Fireports.(Not like Battle Bus that has another life)
-Bumper IFV(no power, 1000, T0): Like the Pandur, only it has PDL.
-Breaker Artillery(3 power, 3000, T1): Railgun-based artillery. Shockwave, anyone?
-Archbishop Support Vehicle(no power, 1500, T1): Combines Ambulance and a repair vehicle function.
-Revenger(6 power, 2400, T1): More devastating Avenger. Has 5 AA lasers and has a faster PDL rate when upgraded.
-Gamma Ray Tank(3 power, 3000, T1): A much more devastating Microwave tank. Can de-crew vehicles and kill infantry at a longer range.
-Prophet Tank(6 power, 2200, T2): More powerful version of the Paladin, now armed with 2 barrelled energy shells that deal devastating damage against all vehicles. Faster PDL.

He is the reason the Europeans have nanomachines, the reason why Russians have railguns, and the reason why the Mobile Offshore Bases are built.

Orbital Bombardment: A projectile from space devastates an area. Devastation increases per level. 3 levels.

Rocket Pods, PDL and Advanced Training are still the same.
Drones are now merged into Super Drones, merging 2 drones into one. Now costs 500.
Advanced Drone Warfare effects buffed. Defenses can now be deployed with drones with this upgrade and deal 30% additional damage. WASPs have 25% range increase instead. WASPs gain plasma missiles.
->Faster auto-repair for drones. Now costs 3000.
Composite Armor now turned into Future Armor: Now with 50% HP increase for all vehicles, aircraft, support aircraft and drones. Now costs 6000.
Due to expensive units, he now has access to More Supply Lines, buffing supplies by 25% instead. Costs 2000.
Chemical Suits now automatically researched. Super Suits replace it, giving infantry resistance to more types of weapons. Also buffs up their speed and health by 5%. Moved to Particle Cannon, now costs 5000.
No Acolyte Drop.
No Leaflet Drop.
Airborne Fire Team replaced by Space Marines Fire Team.
Space Laser Strike replaces A-10 Strike. Space Lasers cut the area. Space Lasers depend on level.
Orbital Bombardment replaces Carpet Bombing.
Spaceship Bombardment replaces both Spectre Gunship and Guardian Angel.

Because none of your suggestion fits with the ROTR universe, which is semi-realistic, not complete science-fiction. Contra on the other hand is more "crazy"

I agree with Camo, all your stuff looks like a generic high tech guy, completely overpowered, and not fitting USA doctrine (precision strikes) at all.
It feels like "DELETE EVERYTHING IN THAT GENERAL DIRECTION"
