Ashes of War
LATEST UPDATED VERSION IS ASHES OF WAR[ROTR][C][2] This was inspired by Plains of War, credits to testers for giving feedback on the map as well as testing it for PvP balance. Description: - 2 vs 2 map - Positions: Players start at North West and South East. - North East corner has Reinforcement Pad, Burning Oil, and 15k Supply Dock. - South West corner has Repair Pad (Provides extra emergency repair), Burning Oil, and Burning Refinery. - Middle has supply piles 9k on each side with Burning Oil in middle - Forward Player uses 30k + 2 Oils, Pocket Player (back player) uses 30k + 60k Dock. - Near forward player is an observation tower. - Mountains to make flanking possible as well as open battlefield in middle. - Random explosive caches (yellow ones) that deal minor damage (nothing special, very minor damage). - Garrisons around the map in form of wood towers. - Random snowman. Battlefield is set in Europe/Russia mood, with a flag being next to the observation tower of each side. Ashes of War[ROTR][2] Changelog: - Cut all mountains in half from area closest to player (disincentive camp) - Replaced all Burning Oils with Oil Wells - Burning Refinery now starts as standing Oil Refinery - Tech Repair Pad removed and replaced with 15k Supply (corners equalized) - Minor Texture Edits This post has been edited by Marakar: 7 Feb 2017, 18:04

I play on this map sometimes. One thing that I noticed is that NE corner have better bonus (supplies + Pad+ burn oil) than SW corner which have destroyed Oil refinery and burning oil. To equal this maybe make oil well instead of burning oil in SW corner?

Could look into that, will probably try and rebalance the corners. Whats your opinion on changing the tech repair pad with a 15k dock as well alongside the oil well?

Yeah I think it's a good idea to change it to 15k dock and place it (recovery pad) to middle maybe. Also I have idea to reposition observation towers and palce them to perpendicular line which will go from SW to NE though map center, so they will be in the left and right side near middle supplies with decent range from each other if you will watch from players perspective (this moment is hard to explain so I just will make edited map to show what i mean). Current position is on line from NW to SE makes their recapture from the enemy less need because you will probably have on of your side and one on enemies one which give both of you open battlefield in center without scouts (yeah it could be several opinions about that, especcially like "take both towers or die", but I think this will make fight for the map vision more interesting and important so players will have to choose between center resourses or both tower having under their control Here my vision of this map P.S. I dont know how to make a destroyed Oil Refinery which can be recaptured again. In my version it's not captureable for some reason This post has been edited by XAOC-RU-: 3 Feb 2017, 13:42

You might want to replace burning oils with wells at this point.
Also IMO , Oil Refinery should be built already on the side. -------------------- Not a Rusty Spoon........The_Hunter uses a goddamn wooden spoon on his AI Scripters.... |

Did edits to Ashes of War and created a new version.
