I recently had a windows 8.1 computer that I had to return
You run the game in windows xp 2003 compatibility mode(Service pack 2) and admin permissions...What ever mode it is included So along with zero hour.exe you'll have to do the same for shw_qst if its for the quickstart mode of shockwave that you use Hopefully this'll be able to help you
