What is the RotR Multiplayer Campaign? It is a sort of turn-based board game where players capture territories for their side and conflicts over territories are resolved through PvP and PvE matches. A faction is rewarded for it's "efficiency" - how well they perform with what they have. If half the players play as Russia they get rewarded for every quarter of the territories they own. If one tenth of the players play as the ECA they get rewarded for every twentieth of the territories they own.

The full rules are here

I'm quite sure I've thought of everything. I even thought of what to do when two players can't find time to play against each other due to different time zones.

If I set up and run a campaign I need to know who is interested and what faction they will play as. I need this information to set up the board.

I will admit the timing may seem odd with the 1.87 Beta out. If there are any updates to install, all players will need to update by the time the next round of turns starts. Before the update is necessary, two players can play without the updates if they agree to do so.

I plan to set up a awesome webpage where the current state of the game is shown with fancy graphics and stuff you can click on. Until the webpage is ready, I will use good old text and illustrations made in paint.net.

I'm not a PvP player so I won't be participating. I will take on a dungeon master role. That means I won't just uphold the rules like a robot. Rules may be bent for the sake of everyone enjoying the game. This would be the first time these rules are being used so unknown flaws could show. Obviously I won't (intentionally) change rules in a way that messes up the ongoing strategies or makes the players' current actions meaningless.

The ultimate goal is to have a fun forum game where PvP and PvE RotR games contribute to a greater conflict. Better players may be able to win most battles but there may be room for weaker PvP players to excel in the PvE component and take out outposts to pave way for stronger players (or something else like that). I hope no-one will lose sight of the goal of enjoyment for everyone.

TL;DR - if you are interested in a long term forum-based game where your PvP and PvE skills contribute to a greater conflict, post below that you want to play and what faction you will play as.

Note that I will probably be moving and taking care of personal life stuff for the next two weeks so there will be at least 2 weeks to sign up.

You may suggest places for the campaign to take place if you want.

I hoped at least like four people would be interested... turns out I don't know much about the community.

I did try and come up with a purely PvE campaign but it seemed even less doable than this idea. A "players team up against a dungeon master and their AI armies" setup doesn't seem to make much sense with RotR. You'd need a army that everyone else could team up against. The GLA works but I'm not sure how much appeal there is in fighting a GLA AI again and again.

A random idea I thought of while typing this is a "mercenaries" campaign where there is a war being fought between AI factions. Players can fight for a side and earn money by winning battles in the place of the AI. The goal is to make as much money as possible. This seems like a bad idea because:
1) It's kind of silly
2) I'd have to write a AI when I should be getting my life on track

This takes a level of planning and dedication from the game master that people like me doubt you have, no offence...

Just a hard nut to have a decent game master and players that are not pricks

No, you move.

A multiplayer campaign doesn't necessarily mean both players get to pick their faction, (or if they do, it's overridden).

I'm not offended... after all I've never been a Dungeon Master of any game so far. I am wondering if there is a particular thing that tips you off that I don't have planning and dedication.

I really don't want to force players to play a faction they aren't so good with. It can be very unfair if they must fight someone who is using a faction they are comfortable with.

Maybe people are still salty from the failed RotR RP thing that went nowhere, and they don't want to go into your project.

The RP had potential. It did not work because it became more politics and relations between the factions that a war RP. Many were disappointed.
